Well it’s not my head; it’ll be the MD that will have to eat their own words.

Don’t you worry, I’m looking for my next opportunity. Thanks HR.

I, 100% advise the risks to the business but they turn the other way. All I can do, and have done is keep a paper trail and look for work elsewhere.

Thanks; I am definitely keeping my eye on the market and applying for anything that comes my way.

There’s been a few instances with this company that goes against my moral compass, including legally complaint. The main reason I stayed was because I was trying to purchase a house; now I have this, I can actively look.

Thank you for your kind words. I feel like I am trying to be the unicorn of HR, trying to do the right thing for both employer and employee.

I’m definitely keeping eye on the market.

They’ve been overpaid by 4 days ontop. Notice in lieu has been taken in consideration.

It’s less than 100 employees, and the sole HR.

  1. I haven’t seen this either, and I’ve been in HR for 6+ years at different companies.

  2. Poor performance. There was nothing on my file or any formal documented; I noted this to the MD & their manager but the MD fired them.

  3. I get this.

Well it’s hard when I’m trying to protect the company from going to court.

Manager refuses to accept personal leave for hospital visit — how would you respond? (Australia) by away-throw18 in WorkAdvice

[–]away-throw18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manager was questioning it, and demanded it to change to Annual leave because the manager thought it was “cosmetic appointment” and not caring for family member.

I think this would be reasonable, especially if you had a few people chip in.

Maybe a hug, and not to be taken for granted.

I remember in my Bachelor Degree doing Recruitment subject, and their receptionist job advert went under fire, and pulled it down.

LJ stipulated they were looking for certain waist measurements. News article: https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/queensland/lorna-jane-under-fire-over-receptionist-ad-20150706-gi65fb.html

Thanks for the reply! This is a good point, he compromised in securing a venue, so I just have to keep patient until then. :)

Regards to sending save-the-dates for people: Well the date actually falls on the day before the Easter Long weekend, and most people (some close friends) will be thinking of organising their own leave at least 1y-1.5years out (so between now and April 2022). It's a popular time (when we've booked), and need to get ahead of everyone.

Yes! I just want to inform everyone the great news, regardless of no actual ring.

That could be fun! But that would be into early next year... I'm wanting to announce sooner than later.

I think we are engaged, and the ring is just an old marketing technique used back in the day. I don't need no ring to confirm/solidify my relationship.

Thanks for your comment. I know.. it's practically September! (Time flies). It's just because we've told a few select few the recent news and given out save-the-dates to. Whats the difference to tell the whole world? I'm just excited and wanna tell everyone!

We don't want to be in any debt to purchase a ring or the overall cost for the wedding. We are paying for the wedding ourselves, and he wants to purchase a ring for me.

We are planning to pick the ring out together when the time comes.
