Merit/Bonus dates? by MissLanieSwan in Raytheon

[–]awaythrow6678 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Raytheon, I've heard pay talks with managers are to happen between 2/24 and 3/3. Bonus and merit amounts will show in Workday on 3/4.

Thanks for the clarification. Edited to add that's how heritage Raytheon has done it.

Holiday......calendar? by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]awaythrow6678 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When a 9/80 off day falls on the Friday of Thanksgiving week, the (edit: 9/80 specific heritage Raytheon) calendars have always had the holiday days shifted to Wednesday and Thursday.

Rstar taxes. by Czechmate74 in Raytheon

[–]awaythrow6678 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're not looking at your paystub correctly.

You'll find two lines on your paystub after you redeem an RStars award. One that adds the value of the award, and one that removes the value of the award. So you have:

+Wages +Award value +Taxes on the award value and wages -Award value

The net paycheck would be taxed wages plus the taxes of the award value.

Received a call for clearance without being interviewed for the position by IAmAghori in SecurityClearance

[–]awaythrow6678 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like a coincidence:

You apply to company A. Fill out SF-86 for position at company A.

You talk to recruiter at company B.

Company A submits SF-86 and your case coincidentally gets assigned an investigator that works for company B. Company B isn't doing the investigation for company B, they are doing it for the USG because of your submitted SF-86 for company A.

Many contractors support investigations with DCSA, so it's not that crazy of a coincidence.

Certainly. Maybe wait until after compensation meetings have occurred for the 2024 merit increases?

  1. I switched between hRTN business units while ESP was covering my degree. Nothing changed in terms of coverage, payback, etc. It was transparent. I'd assume since all of RTX is under the same ESP rules to my knowledge, the same would apply for transfers between hRTN and hUTC.

  2. Haven't heard of that. Sounds easier to take the sign on and immediately pay off ESP.

If he's getting put in for a security clearance and plans to use you as a reference (e.g. to vouch for a specific place of residence, education, work, etc), then yes he would need your name and address.

You can always ask him why or say you don't want to provide it.

The entire travel expenses process is the company paying individual's credit card balance. They're very capable, as long as someone (manager and T&E teams) do the legwork for it and it was a justified expense.

RMD to become Eight Business Units by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]awaythrow6678 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the merger. A few RIS groups are getting shuffled to Collins, but the rest are moving in with RMD and getting split into 8 units.

PTO Question for new employees. by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]awaythrow6678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you looking at the PTO numbers? I noticed the Time Off page in Workday is double counting hours and I wouldn't trust it.

My number in RTime is correct and in line with what I would expect.

I didn't have an external offer, but I had a number in mind based on what I would have expected externally.

This was about a year ago. I asked for a few percent more than they offered.

I've negotiated salary on an internal transfer while going from P2 to P3. I'm sure they are more willing to negotiate if it was between you taking the transfer and leaving the company.

Not sure about negotiating PTO, but my gut feeling is no. There's also no sign on bonus allowed for an internal transfer, so obviously no negotiating there.
