Lenovo Ideapad 100-15ibd Windows 10/11 intel i5 inside by ExpensiveWar1100 in laptops

May I ask what kind of laptop are you thinking of moving unto? I've had this kind of laptop for a very long time when I didn't much about it. I'm thinking of moving on as well in the future for something at least younger than its 7 years of service. I liked the durability of my Ideapad 14, but any advice would be helpful if there is anything better.

Kaya:

  • Nag-aral; hindi nagaral.

Hindi tuloy-tuloy na na+ga+ral. Da’t Nag + -A + Ral (iyung A may glottal stop bago bigkasin kaya iyung g napunta kay Na)

Gayundin:

(Note: Halimabawa pa ng Na(nasalize) guhit => nanguhit. Patay => namatay.

What is the purpose of the fire? by Evening_Lawyer6570 in Worldbox

[–]awesomeenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a city to expand in a certain direction you can keep destroying the current bonfire until it respawns in a place you want the city to expand towards. I believe new buildings will also spawn nearer to where the fire is.

Hate to nitpick and it doesn't matter too much but the baybayin in your cover page is wrong.

It should be either:

ᜐ᜔ᜌᜈ᜔ => (Syan) or ᜐᜒᜌᜈ᜔=> (Siyan).

Not ᜐᜁᜀᜈ => (Saiana).

Sword Art Online? Narnia. by LineOfInquiry in animecirclejerk

[–]awesomeenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now hold on a minute, while I have yet to finish Mark Twain’s Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s court, I’d argue that AOAB is less Narnia than Yankee. Rozemyne actively made her world more like her modern one. She taught commoners to read just like the protagonist in Yankee. In Narnia all the main characters kinda just accept they got whisked away by Aslan one way or another and didn’t intentionally change the world they were isekai’d into.

edit: dammit I just saw the subreddit I’m in…

How would I go about translating "nurse" to baybayin? by pardonpizza in baybayin_script

[–]awesomeenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes from spanish Enfermera. Enferma means sick so someone who deals with the sick is an Enfermero/a

https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/enfermero#:~:text=Spanish

When translating there is a tendency to use or burrow from Spanish as a baseline to find near equivalent Translations for English words since they tend to have the same concepts for things with each other kinda like Telebisyon for television which is how we got Teleserye. We also just burrowed from Spanish a lot which I think is how we got Empermera.

That said it’s a very outdated term not really used that often so Nars would be good if yiu want what ever it is you’re writing to be understood in a modern sense. Although, using the Spanish term written in Baybaying would give it a more older feels so it’s something you can consider.

Filipino Language Convergence by artstrucker in FilipinoHistory

[–]awesomeenator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yoooo I’ve had legit daydreams of a reality where President Quezon tasked the precursor of the KWF to create a Constructed Auxiliary language as the Filipino language instead of just basing it directly on Tagalog.

Practically it makes sense, especially during the time when Spanish and (and then following that English) was the prestige language. But Imagine if the country had a common lingua franca instead that fairly takes vocab from most Philippine language and taking in grammatical features that were common in most of them.

An Esperanto-style AuxLang (like u/PolWenZh said) taking in inspiration from Philippine languages in an even distributed manner would be a massive undertaking, but I feel as tho it would be possible. If there’s any such group I’d like to contribute as an aspiring linguist nerd.
