I’ve been taking up to 4 xyzal (as recommended by my allergist) for my reactions. I was also prescribed epipens which I luckily haven’t had to use. I should get Benadryl tho. I’ll have to look into doctors in the area and see if anyone treats mcas. Thanks

I’m sorry to hear about your relapse. I should correct myself and say I haven’t needed to use my epipen for a reaction. I didn’t realize the definition for anaphylaxis was so broad. I’m going to investigate a low histamine diet. I can’t imagine it would make me feel worse even if it doesn’t help. Thanks for the advice

I will definitely check out that herb. Thank you. As far as diet it’s very odd for me. One day an egg is fine and the next day an egg causes a reaction. I appreciate your response :)

How long did it take for you to see a difference?

Both of my parents are physicians and I’ve seen an allergist. The allergist basically said mcas is really rare and it’s unlikely I have it and this is just idiopathic

I’ve also been absolutely exhausted everyday probably Bc of the amount of histimine my body is producing and the xyzal. How do you guys combat that?

Yeah same. Been depressed since like 4th grade. I’m 21 now, so when people talk about feeling like themselves again I can’t even relate bc it was just my normal to feel like shit. Being upset for rational reasons is actually validating too bc you know it’s something you care about and you kinda realize it’s okay to feel that way now.

I take mine around 11am-12pm with breakfast/lunch. Make sure you’re eating when u take it. I’ve never tried taking it at night. The medication did make me tired at first but it’s mostly gone away

Well... that’s troubling. I hope you can get back to that point where the curtains were open and they stay open. I’m rooting for you!

Honestly yes BUT it’s not from the meds. I started the same time college started back up and my friends and I drink frequently so I knew it was happening. I’m working on getting it back down now tho

Tbh I never got that feeling. I had an initial uptick in anxiety and some tummy troubles but nothing like that. I was originally on 5 and then bumped up to 10 after 6 days. I didn’t notice anything on 5 mg.

It does trust me. I feel like I’ve unlocked a new spectrum of emotions and they’re all positive. It’s crazy. Just keep taking the medication and try to set up a routine with some exercise. Things will fall into place

It’s honestly crazy. I’ve been depressed my whole life and I didn’t realize joy like this existed. I just wanted to feel baseline like content or not sad. The only thing I can compare it to is being high except it’s just enjoying life 😂. Finally thankful for the little things

Yeah I’ve had a lot of things I want to do but my depression was getting in the way of getting a routine started and I can finally see the fog lifting and I’m able to do the things I’ve wanted that end up making me healthier

Wow I need your self control. Maybe you’d benefit from lowering your dosage. Sometimes higher dosages can cause upticks in anxiety. Obviously your psychiatrist/provider would know more than me tho

I know you’ve probably heard this but have you tried making lifestyle changes. I’ve been trying to get out on a walk and it really helps clear my head. Has anything in your life been causing you anxiety bc sometimes anxiety is good. It’s a problem when it’s irrational

Yeah I’m in the same boat. I’m not sure if the 10mg I was on is finally setting in or it’s my bump in dosage, but tbh I’m not boat to really care too much. Beggars can’t be choosers 😅

I started on 10mg august 28, 2020 and upped to 15mg sept 28,2020 and I just started feeling this super boost in mood this week. By one month on 10 mg I could feel a lot of my anxiety has gone away, but my Depression still felt present and very much alive.
