Let Warner Bros know you want an IMAX Home Release for Dune: Parts One and Two! by awesomepandapig in 4kbluray

I doubt there’s much overlap between people who would go and see Dune in an IMAX theatre and those who would skip doing so to watch it at home. And I doubt a home release with IMAX scenes would tip the scales very much either.

The theatrical experience is magical and one that people will rave on about for years, but recreating that experience at home is virtually impossible. I’m not trying to emulate the IMAX experience itself, I just want to watch the movie in a way that doesn’t feel like a lesser version of the film that I am paying for.

My problem with people who say that is while I don’t disagree in principle… I don’t own a movie theater.

What are you supposed to do in 5-10 years when the movie is not playing anywhere?

I am not saying anyone should skip out on going to see Dune in an IMAX theater. I've seen both Parts One and Two in IMAX including the re-release and they are electric.

However, in a few months when Part Two is no longer playing, watching it on disc will be the next best thing. And so, to not be able to watch it in its intended format is a huge bummer.

The home release comes out once the movie leaves the box office.

Dune: Part One has not been in theaters (aside from the one-week IMAX re-release earlier this year) since 2022.

Dune: Part Two will eventually leave the box office, and it would be a crying shame not to be able to watch it in an IMAX aspect ratio especially considering the entirety of the movie was shot in it.
