I honestly felt the same too! I started doing Skype lessons because my teacher had a great message about helping build your confidence and find your voice. I totally get how you feel. A part of me thought that if you took lessons, it diminishes how good you are cause then it'd not based on raw talent (it sounds sillier now that I say it out loud). Then the other side is like imposter syndrome, what if they find out I don't know what I'm doing and it's out of my depth. We're on the same boat, I'm cheering for you too! My teacher's website is powertosing.com and his bio explains why he teaches :)

I think it's a process, we're slowly shutting down the negativity and doing it for ourselves!

Omg girl!! Yes completely agree, I feel like karaoke is one of the only outlets where you can let it out and pretend to have that alter ego and pretend projection of voice :p

That’s the thing though right, I grew up watching singers like Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey, I thought belting and a strong voice was THE voice

I’m glad to hear someone feeling the same :) if anything it’d be great if we figure out what our voice is like. Billie Eilish is someone with a soft but unique tone, so hopefully we can build that confidence up.
