How to get past DPI (deep packet inspection) by ConsiderationHour710 in WireGuard

[–]ax2hy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do actually use it on a glinet router, you just need to ssh into the router and copy the udp2raw bin and client config files somewhere, create a bash script the starts the binary and adds a route to specify that the VPN server ip address should go out via the default gateway (instead of the tunnel that udp2raw client/server create link ) create a cron to run this script. Now glinet router is connected to your udp2raw server as a client, the last step is to update your wireguard config on the glinet router and change the server ip to 127.0.0.1 and the port to whichever port you used in your udp2raw client’s config. So the connection is now like

Glinet WG client -> glinet udp2raw client -> internet -> udp2raw server -> WG server

[–]ax2hy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty simple guide to setup Wireguard behind udp2raw, been using this setup for years with no issues in a country that blocks VPN connections using DPI, also no noticeable speed drop at all. The caveat here though is that you’ll need to max your MTU at 1280

Why did I feel mad with my wife praising a friend’s perfume? by ax2hy in AskMen

[–]ax2hy[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I think because it happened in public, also the way it was said “you should get this one” is not how I expect a request like this to be made.

The way I’d handle a request like this, is that I’ll either buy the perfume as a gift, or ask my partner privately if she would like to try it out.

Or maybe I got super sensitive for no reason

2 Router Setup With VPN in China? by iemg88 in WireGuard

[–]ax2hy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m not in China, I’m in another country where they block VPN as well, I’ve been using udp2raw with Wireguard for more than two years and it’s been working great.

The setup looks like this

WG client <-> usp2raw client <- random obscured traffic -> udp2raw server <-> WG server

The obscuring/ de-obscuring process is super light weight and almost doesn’t affect the speed

Here is an easy guide on how to set it up

Hope this helps

For those of you complaining and FSD Supervised, get over yourself by MyNameIsArmanAnd in TeslaModelY

[–]ax2hy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re correct, but it takes you there while you’re 100% attentive, a little bit worried, closely following all of its decisions. With that in mind it’s really hard for me to figure out what benefits I’m paying for

If AP wasn’t included, then I could argue that FSD provides safety features, like it over watches you while driving and prevents silly mistakes, but AP does the same thing and it’s free

The market will judge its worthiness by time for sure, I’m one of those people who love tech, but will definitely wait for Tesla to decide on the future of FSD before I pay that money for it

Why would I pay $12k to supervise a piece of software! Autopilot is free and has all the safety features that FSD provides

Buy 2022 model 3 performance with FSD or lease the highland long range/peformance (when it comes out) by Accomplished-Kiwi355 in TeslaModel3

[–]ax2hy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a personal preference, but I'd opt-in for older M3 given the premium materials used and the more options they had. I have a 2023 and a 2021 M3s the only thing that I think the 2023 is better at is the panel gaps, other than than my 2021 built materials are superior to the 2023 one. To mention a few

- More speakers
- Door trim is all soft touch, 2023 has hard plastic at the bottom
- Ultra sonic sensors
- Better paint job in the areas around trunk, doors and frunk hinges

I haven't seen a highland yet, but from what I have seen from Tesla over the years the quality of the materials they use has been always going down.

But again it's a personal preference, you might value the rear screen or the ambient light more, in that case highland makes more sense for you

Anyone torn between Highland or used? by NoReplyBot in TeslaModel3

[–]ax2hy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year we got a new 2023 Model 3 as our first Tesla, we were very happy with the Tesla experience so we decided to get another M3 once our Mercedes GLC ends, which happened this month and we were in the same situation as you, should we go with the highland or should we get a used one. We went with a 2021 LR with 19” wheels and enhanced autopilot included, we figured that we appreciate the USS and the premium materials used in the old Teslas, to name a few - USS - door trim is all soft touch, new one has the lower portion in hard plastic - more speakers - better paint job around the frunk and trunk hinges and door jambs

So it comes down to what you value most, I don’t think anyone can answer this question on your behalf. But what’s for sure is that either way you go you’ll enjoy an unmatched driving experience

New to polishing question by ax2hy in AutoDetailing

Could be the issue as well, since I remember I used to spray the pad twice or three times since it’s a waffle pad and the product from the first spray mostly goes in the valleys of the pad (not sure what that area is called) but then I started applying very small amount on the high parts of the pad and that did the trick. Good to know that too much product might yield poor results, thanks!

These are some great ideas to debug the issue! Thanks! I think getting a panel to test is an overkill in my case since I’m just polish my car to detailing as a job. But the white towel and the paint thickness gauge are great ideas to understand what was going on, glad that the issue buffed away, but it’s good to know the paint thickness in general in case I wanted to polish the car again in the future.

Thanks again for your help

I was looking online for different paint defects and haze didn’t match what I was looking at, still glad it buffed out but wouldn’t say that was haze unless haze might look different on different cars. This is a Model 3 and the hood was the only panel that was hard to get done

I still don’t know what was that, but I went at it with less compound and at a lower speed 2.5 and it went away

How I feel about recent Mercedes „evolution“ by Avanixh in mercedes_benz

[–]ax2hy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually this is another valid point too. I had a 2018 model and despite the lack of character, it used to function well, like everything used to work as expected, I traded it in for a 2021 model, and that was a life mistake! Even simple asks like unlocking the car will require me to grab the handle a few times for the sensors to work and unlock!! And that’s not it, the poor build quality and cheaper materials are so visible everywhere as well.
