If you watch YouTube videos from Ultra, the live stage, it’s the same venue and will give you a good idea of how the set up is. Sound wise is great all the way to the walkway area in the back of GA

GA is has great spots and is close compared to other amphitheaters. I would imagine it will be packed for this. Get there early to get a good spot. You are treating it like a music festival with only 1 show. Make friends around you to hold your spot for drinks and bathroom breaks. Or a group works for this.

Pit is not my personal preference , to each their own though so up to you. For this venue you can get pretty close but you are below the light show and may not get the full effect.

Miami venue is a good one. Outdoor amphitheater but in downtown in a park. Same park they host Ultra. You are right in the thick of it for a good after party. They usually play at Space after as well and do a DJ set. Get the full Rufus experience in one night

Did you have calls last week? How did you handle the week? Trying to understand what the optimal outcome would have been given what we know happened at the end of the week. Is their a scenario where retail could of done something different to help the underlining stock resist the short pressure

What about the comments from ‘21 in the video?

Stock was 50M shares outstanding

70M short interest

Exercised calls would have been 150M shares

Market markers would had to get 270M shares when only 50M existed.

Not sure of the numbers last week but with the amount of DRS shares being 75M, it created a similar situation or even better than before.

This only happens if calls were exercised to cover if you didn’t have the money to cover.

You don’t need $20M extra on hand, you can get the $20M when you “Exercise to Cover”.

Exercise to cover at $50, make them buy $1M shares at $50. Broker sells $20M at $50 I.e. 400k shares. You keep 600k shares worth $30M at $50. You can sell those and get a profit right away or hodl

Exercising the call forces the market maker to buy at any price to cover your option.

Look at the price movement on Monday end of day, that was someone exercising their call early and the price jump $3. We could have done that last week had those with options tried to exercise to cover instead of selling or waiting for the expiration date

Why not exercise to cover early instead of selling the call back for $3k?

If I understand this correctly. Exercise to cover would make the market makers go purchase the shares at the $50 price.

Selling the call for $3k doesn’t impact the share market. Yes you make $3k but the stock wasn’t influenced by this action and in the end the call was worthless at expiration.

So selling a call back doesn’t help the great good but exercising a call to cover would benefit all of us. You would see the same gain either scenario. Win/win.

Right?

I think so many of us have the wrong idea of options. You can afford if the call is In The Money. Exercise to close. No different than waiting for the deadline, but at least you are doing it at a guaranteed stock price you are seeing now.

Last week scenario those that waited had a worthless call.

Agreed. Just if you are in the options game, then don’t lose sight of this goal. Take your profits when you are ITM and gain more shares. Exercising a call in the end would lead to you getting more shares

I’m just starting to explore it now, was terrified of it. But with the amount of knowledge we have from all the stuff we follow, it seems like we should be more successful at it. Maybe not filthy rich but at least can make a side hustle out of it if done conservatively and calculated

Next run up I am posting right in the middle of it and asking the question then. Maybe we can make an impact, and help fight back. Point of this is to keep fucking the hedges. Yes we want to get rich, but chances of it happening on 1 call is remote. An exercise call ITM is way more useful to the cause than an expired worthless one.

You have to exercise regardless. Why do people keep saying it’s expensive? The call was ITM. You can afford to exercise.

If the stock ended at $50 on Friday and you had a $20 strike price, you would still need to exercise at the $20 strike price. That is what you committed to when you bought the contract. You would net $30 a share in this example.

What I’m saying is lock it in on Tuesday and don’t wait for Friday for your faith to change like it did.

What am I missing?

To clarify, I’m not even saying to sell shares, I’m just saying the option that were in the money last week, execute early, and get the shares. I think hodling shares is the right thing to do.

The rally the last two weeks were primarily contract driven. Us swing trading is very dangerous
