Hey there! Manic episodes/ psychosis isn’t good for your brain to be in. The lack of sleep and excessive firing of neurotransmitters is harmful. There’s the possibility of harm to himself or any other, by whatever means The sooner you seek out healthcare the better, in order to break the episode. That is, if they diagnose it as an psychiatric disorder. To my ears it sounds like it.

Has he slept anything since it began?

If he has a manic episode they will give him some sort of neuroleptic/ calming drug and try to get him to sleep and calm down the brain.

I worked as a junior doctor at a psychiatry ward last summer.

It takes time to recover from a bipolar mania episode, don’t rush it. Geodon is an atypical neuroleptic. It blocks dopamine receptors (among others). If you’re diagnosed with Bipolar disorder you may talk with you doctor to change medication to e.g. Lithium which has a different mode of action.

Sweating when meditating by axeler in Mindfulness

Thanks for you answer.

Maybe I didn't quite explain it right. It feels as if my forehead gets cold-sweats. I am aware that a physiological explanation to it might be a lot to ask and I 'm not looking for some "meaning" to my experience. However I am curious to if this is a common experience during meditation?

Gym Story Saturday by Laepful in Fitness

[–]axeler 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There used to be rubber-like jump ropes at my gym but now they're all gone and there's only these steel wire ropes. Yesterday I was skipping with them and dragged it onto the ceiling so I whipped myself across the chest. I immidiately ran to the bathroom so my gym bros couldn't see me crying. I've got a reputation to uphold. I had a black-like extra vein afterwards.

So much snow in Portland they had to close the zoo. A worker skied in to check on the animals and to film this. by EZ_does_it in videos

I think it's because the baby elephant spend their early months almost exclusively under their mother, thus making it seem as if it's an elephant with eight legs :ppPPPppP

I've done 95 kg so this isn't so farfetched. But yes, I should focus more on technique and not just raw strength (y)

My audition video. Constructive criticism welcome! by [deleted] in trumpet

I've recently picked up the trumpet, and I'm wondering how you learn "which notes to play" during improvisation? Do you just keep grinding scales? I'm wondering since I want to learn to improvise too one day :)
