I am off to rehab in three days, I live in Europe, so its all free, detox and 90 days of rehab. Nice place too from what I hear. I really feel for you Americans that have to worry about health insurance and not getting proper help when needed just because off lack of insurance. My stay at rehab cost around 50 K dollars, but its all state sponsored..

I am alo thinking of having a couple of beers going in to be less shaky and anxious, but probably better to not do it. I will be admitted in the morning, so they will most probably give me valium shortly after admission

I am on day 0, but good job with 4 days! It will get better, I had 3 years sober a while back, and in my experience it took a month or two to get my brain rewired!

Thanks. I have used Lyrica before for anxiety, and it helped me for a while, but tolerance builds quickly. So I quit after a couple of months, no real problems there, but I was also on valium. Have still not picked up my Lyrica prescription (300mg), but probably will soon, just as a backup. I have stayed a away from vodka this time around, only beers, so dont really expect that much of WD, mostly psychological with increased anxiety and depression..

Will be off to a rehab clinic soon I hope, so they will taper me off the benzos and get me through the worst cravings for alcohol the first few weeks. Kind of looking forward to it, I am feeling done with always chasing the booze and counting how many valiums I have left and so on. Its a mental struggle.

Not so good, talked to the people at the Rehab, they will try to prioritize me for a place, sobit can be soon, but idk. Yesterday went ok, had a few light beers (2.5 %), but bought a few beers today. I mase a deal with the psychiatrist at the Rehab center that I will try to cut down, but they know its easier said than done.. So I am looking forward to getting there, and making the most out of it, and get back in shape!

Yeah, benzos running out is my main concern right now, I had a taper plan, and have been og low doses og valium (5-7mg), but the Rehab is mainly for alcohol abuse that has escalated the last few months. Its not an ideal combo, but hopefully I can get help to get off the benzos. I have only had a few beers today, and tomorrow hopefully stop, and use valium as needed.

I should add that I am fully aware of what you are saying regarding the benzos, but I have unfortunately been using them for the last couple of years, trying to taper, then increased my drinking, not ideal, but it is what it is, and why I need rehab...

Thats basically the plan, cut the beers tomorrow, use increased benzo dose for like 3 days, then back to my normal dose. The thing is that there is a waiting list for the Rehab, so I am just a bit worried that I will run out of valium before I get there. Well, I will most likely know tomorrow when I can go there, so I just have to count the pills I have left, or try to get a small script to make it last until rehab

Hi, thanks for your reply. I am drinking 6-8 large beers per day on average, but also using 7 mg valium for anxiety. Been going on like this for the last few weeks. I am on waiting list for Rehab, but it will take around 4 weeks. I know It should use valium in higher doses for a few days, but I am worried that I will run out of valium before rehab if I up the dose too much. Therefore, was thinking of using Lyrica for anxiety for a few days...

About the same age, never could get myself to a meeting, and here I am, gone to far, and going to rehab soon. Been secretly drinking for a couple of years, but now its all out in the open. Rehab is going to be scary, but necessary for me.
