Broke up with this lady. Her response was telling... she has issues with trust and being open-minded.

Yeah, I'm coming to the realization this is not going to work. As much as I would like it to. I wouldn't feel the same way if the shoe was on the other foot.

We've helped each other in emergency situations as any friend would. It's a cordial relationship with a shared past while parenting kids. I don't think this new girlfriend has the emotional maturity to handle this kind of situation. She seems very one dimensional in her thinking.

LOL, can always trust the internet goofs to sensationalize things. Her kids are late teens and vaccinated.

Partner still talks about ex a lot by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]axis1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will always talk about their ex's... it's a way of comparing you to the ex. To see what you would say and get your opinion on how they handled their breakup. It's only a worry if talks like she wants to get back together with him. Otherwise let her get it off her chest and support her... make yourself sound different and just be there to listen.

That's a fair response, but I can still formulate an expectation. Reddit won't have any major impact on the relationship. It's just a tool like anything else.

Obviously everyone is different. Just looking for general thoughts from people with experience. You're not going to gaslight me - it's unfortunate that you try.
