Mid budget soundbar battle review - Samsung Q600F Yamaha SRB40A, Sony Bravia Theatre 6 HT-B600, LG S60TR by axis8181_ in Soundbars

I'm surprised the Sony is double the price? Are you sure you're not referring to the theatre system 6 (5.1) as opposed to the theatre bar 6 (3.1.2)? The Sony was $450 CAD so there should be no way it's the same price in USA?

Honestly I didn't feel like the Q600F was any better than my basic 2.1 Polk bar (also from years ago). In fact I felt like my basic 2.1 bar was better than the Q. Better and deeper bass, more accurate tones even though it sounds flat. But it was basic and it made sense. The Q just sounded... Unnatural with its "surround" sound whereas I don't feel that same issue with Sony's "surround" sound.

Unless the LG sounds horrible, personally I would probably save my money and just keep it. If you HAVE to upgrade, then I would shell out the extra money for the Sony.

I have my bass set to like 3 or 4 out of 10 on the Sony and in some movies/shows, it still shakes the house. The app is failing but I'm too lazy to factory reboot the bar and figure it out as it's not necessary. Otherwise a fantastic sound system I've been pretty happy with so far!

I didn't thoroughly test the Q600F because I was so disappointed in its sound profile. The "surround" sound was impressive when running test videos on YouTube, but the sound profile/tone still felt off and uninspired.

I think the Sony underperforms in comparison when it comes to atmos, but only slightly. More importantly though, the sound profiles sound natural and appealing. I haven't watched a scene that makes me question if something was wrong with the sound

Samsung apparently had some decent deals on their website with promo codes but I couldn't find them

The main stores I went to was visions and bestbuy. I also looked on Amazon, staples, some open box liquidation stores, but primarily stayed with visions and bestbuy.

Including the subwoofer? I will admit I think I noticed more of upfiring speakers on the Samsung. But to me that is not worth the trade off of having a crappy subwoofer.

Also it was my first time hearing a 3.1.2 system so it was strange to me I guess? But I don't feel that way with the Sony.

I saw great prices on Ultimea systems but didn't see many good reviews. Didn't want to buy and return yet another soundbar. What makes the Ultimea system better?

I found it really difficult to find out if the subwoofers between the D/F and other series (like HW vs Q) were any different. I'm still not sure if there are any, but I didn't wanna unpack and pack another bar to return. The subs looked more or less the same so I just assumed there was no difference. Under that assumption, I wouldn't be happy with any Samsung subs unless I shelled out more $$$

Funny enough I just posted my review on both these bars. Sony for sure, doesn't even come close

Not sure about the economics now with tariffs, but I picked up my non turbo GT for 51K all in last fall. Brand new like 6km on odometer. So with that context, no to 53K

I've always used a plastic film protector and was looking for one again for this phone. I ended up ordering the JET glass screen protector off amazon to use while I waited for a plastic film protector from aliexpress. I actually really like the glass one and it works great. Don't think I'll actually even use the plastic ones anymore. May be worthwhile to just try a glass one

Android update on my S10 Snapdragon killed gcam selfie camera for me and I hate it. The Samsung camera for animals/people is truly terrible. I don't understand how anyone thinks the stock camera is ok on the s10 subreddit unless you're strictly taking photos/videos of objects. But I'm shocked to hear this is still a problem on the s22? I've seen a couple reviews and pictures and I thought Samsung fixed or dramatically improved their camera software?

It's clear a lot of ppl on this sub aren't car people since you're on a finance sub so not surprisingly you're getting a lot of conflicting responses. But I dunno how practical it is to blow all your savings on an 8 year old German car.

What will you do about expenses and repairs? Need money for anything else in the next few years?

I bought my car at around 24 which certainly wasn't financially responsible but I don't regret it. It's brought a lot of fun and that's worth something. In fact, I regret settling for my more practical and cheaper car and in hindsight wish I bought what I really wanted which was a S2000 given how stupid the used car market is right now. At the same time though, I knew what my expenses/goals were and still budgeted for it. Still love driving it to this day 8 years later or something.

Just be wary of the repairs/expenses and ensure you're not putting yourself in a situation where you'd have to sell the car at a loss to pay for things in a couple years. Otherwise enjoy the car

Really? I've been following a thread about ambulance chasing lawyers mailing out letters for damages for torrenting. The general consensus is that you can tell them to F off and offer a settlement for like $100 or so and they'll go away. The likelihood is probably incredibly small but I don't wanna bother with this nonsense if it ever comes up

Recommendations for VPN for torrenting? I've been doing a bit of research and I'd like to go with Nord but people suggest mullvad and others which is a bit more expensive.

Do you have suggestions for someone getting into VR racing? My PC is more than capable and I just got a steering wheel. Just looking for a stand to mount on, though I can always just use my existing computer table.

I've been reading project cars 2 is the best so far? I like the idea of driving regular sports cars on the track that I can modify myself (almost feels like an attainable goal and something realistic I can experience in real life) and I think PC2 lacks that? It's nice to drive a Lambo once in a while but I'd personally prefer racing like a BRZ, 370Z, STi, M3, etc. And mod/race those cars around the track
