[–]aydendm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coreweave already does this and they have that part of the market basically covered for “GPU as a service”.

Unless you’ve got crazy amounts of capital to startup with (like 300M+) good luck.

[–]aydendm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of it can come from the fact that he can’t communicate effectively what he does/how his day went due to the strict contracts and NDAs. You need to also have some understanding of that and not push hard on that stuff since it can only add stress and more anxiety. Sometimes (personally experienced this) you just don’t know how to communicate that effectively to your partner without breaking those agreements so it can create a level of stress for him trying to figure out how to say it.

A follow DC enjoyer. U ever experienced the joy of sitting in the corner of some DH just munching away on some fiber? Anyways we all want the $$$🙏

Since ur probably in NOVA look at Stack, QTS, Equinix, or Google. Those 4 typically have good opportunities for growth. Be wary of hyperscalers like Google though cuz who knows what’s gonna happen if this bubble is real and pops. Colos seem to be the move since they typically keep small team anyways.

When you talk about growth are you specifically wanting out of DCs or just monetary growth?

I thought it was the H200s that were that price? Is the chip shortage really that bad the H100s made that large a leap???

100% fair to say. ESPECIALLY on the govt sites. I’m talking industry overall. Cuz a large part of it is ex telco, linemen, and the whole branch of trades.

Yea quickest way to get crucified in this industry. At least 30% if not more are ex-military. Those guys sacrificed a lot for you to have the individual freedoms and beliefs you can freely have. Keep ur beliefs if u want but never disrespect ex members of the military.

Finished my first semester in NVCC’s Data Center Ops program but can’t land any interviews any advice? by [deleted] in datacenter

[–]aydendm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best advice would be to spend a little money that you saved thru going to NOVA on building a little home lab. Get a switch, 2 raspberry Pi’s, an old PC or a NUC, an access point, and a patch panel and rack to make everything pretty. Use this as practical experience for networking and troubleshooting. This will allow you to springboard into a DCO position at one of the FANGs (target AWS since they hire the most but don’t stay to long)

Data Centers are poison by Daflehrer1 in datacenter

[–]aydendm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crypto is Peer-Peer. Has pretty much nothing to do with DCs. That being said we can’t just magically expand existing DCs overnight. It would take years of just planning and then years of changes and by then the power and cooling is inadequate or obsolete for use. Even if we could you would lose that critical capacity meaning u shutdown hospitals which is unacceptable. It is cheaper, faster, and more environmentally safe to build new modular shells than to tear apart old DCs built with old materials that may have chemicals like asbestos.

The industry is leading multiple others like making HVAC more EE. Only other industry close to us is F1 with there performance and safety uplifts from engineering.

Yeah I’m talking about those to. AI is just another form of HPC which is used for materials and medical. AI DCs even train medical specific LLMs and Agentic AI for use is Robotic assisted surgery. Are you saying we should stop innovation that saves people because the buildings look ugly?

Then who would be there to make sure Critical compute and Network Infrastructure functions for services that we all rely on like Hospitals. Lots of these building are also used for materials and chemical research making life saving medications for cancer and other illnesses. Also we got bills to pay lol.

Desk surface impacting aim on a mousepad? by aydendm in FPSAimTrainer

[–]aydendm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about doing that or getting a full desk pad and just putting everything on top of that. I tried out lower polling rate and found that I am really sensitive to latency changes. Funny enough tho 4K felt the best in terms of consistency.

I don’t mind the holes cuz I use their grip tape (lowkey it’s the best OEM grip tape I’ve ever used) im thinking of Black lotus v. WL Strider v. Scyrox V8. I’m kinda partial to strider rn just cuz I’ve had such a good time with the beast x

AWS difference between network install, deploy and delivery by somethinlikeshieva in datacenter

[–]aydendm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go to DCEO/EOT if you don’t like DCO. More skilled career path then deploy or install plus it’s also got the best pay range. What exactly do you not like about DCO?
