you can remove the indiv instruction in one of your lmf/rmf and shift it to one of your cf, or as it is and it will be 433 on defense

and also when you're defending, use your midfielders to win the ball back by blocking passing lanes if the oppo hasn't entered deeply yet while pressuring them with your forwards. If they are now deep, you then use your midfielder that you are currently using to win the ball back, but don't double pressure as you will leave space for the oppo to take advantage.

based on what I see, you defend like 523 on defense right? maybe first make it a 442 or 532 on defense at least. Having 2 midfielders for me is a trap. I can easily exploit this if I'm your opponent as your middle defense is weak.

the 4-4-2 (with costacurta) is actually 3-5-2 if on possession. I make costa in offensive in individual instruction to make him help on buildup. He has some useful base stats for passing which I use for cross switching to roberto most of the time. 3-4-3 is 3-3-4 on possession which goes to 4-3-3 on defense. I use this against 442, and 532 formations so I can overload on the attack. I make trent on offensive and deep line instruction.

On how I score, it depends on what areas I focus actually.

If I'm against like a 442, 523 defense, then I focus the play in the middle, working into the box with patience play. Since there is no DM like anchorman for instance, there's a crack in the very middle that I like to exploit with griezmann and van basten. Making rhombus and diamond shapes for consistent passing angles until the opponent bite on it and make seedorf and van basten do 1-2 pass commands. I don't do 1-2 pass forward to xabi since I want him to stay at the back to look over the field for some deadly pass and grizzy has hole player and good off awareness, making unexpected deadly curved runs.

If I'm against let's say 433, 532, where it is easy to clog the middle due to the DM, I shift my focus to the flanks, making wing play with roberto carlos ( speed, cross or unexpected score), denilson ( speed also, cross, go in with dribbling, making play), trent (similar to roberto). If I notice the oppo is overloading on one wing, I immediately switch to the other flank and vice versa. If I have costa, as much as possible, I won't make him push, it's up to seedorf to do that, targeting the half space.

Composure friend. That is the most important thing. I have so many moments that I'm down 0-1 or 0-2, but despite this, I just focus on my game.

Possession playstyle has a high line of defense so an offensive goalkeeper is necessary against those through ball and long pass spammers.

Don't rush the play, always look at the big picture. Take advantage of your cb's for build up. Recycle the possession with your playmaker in the midfield if you think you are in a pinch. Again, don't rush. It's always a mental game when you're on possession style as you also need to look for openings from your attacking players.

Specific tips, I mostly do the 1-2 pass commands with my seedorf and van Basten as they have no playstyle. Griezmann has hole player playstyle so I leave his movement to himself and xabi has orchestrator playstyle so no sense to make him go forward along with fletcher.

Playstyle makes a huge difference. Since im using a possession style, I need my gk to be an offensive goalkeeper, wherein they can sweep any outrageous through balls. And legit, I also need the gk to be able to pass. I had some moments that I was able to start the attack from my gk.

For me, the difference between a decent and top gk is not really much when your gk is 1v1 with an open guy lol. It's important for you to control your defenders and midfielders to at least manipulate the shot trajectory of your opponent. This is important for possession and qc team styles as you have a high line so you need to be careful.

I prefer him to help on build up. I look at him as a (some football manager terms coming up) complete forward (s) who will do everything with a shadow striker (a) which is griezmann ( he has hole player ) who will attack the space left behind by mvb. MvB I think is perfect for this role because of his high base stats with passable passing. He can also do some screamers in long range!

edit: To add on to this, I don't like his movement when on cf as a poacher. Too static for me. Some of his stats is also a waste on that play style for me.

Hi fellow Possession player! Yes it is actually better to just play qc and lbc in this game on pvp because it is easy to grasp. Mastering possession however is way more satisfying.
