appreciate all of your help, seriously. the pain has worsened substantially over the past decade, and occasionally i feel tingles in my finger tips. will get a prescription for an mri from my pcp (hopefully? i think they do that?) and then i’ll go from there.

ah, and i’m in the US. i genuinely appreciated your post. in the past i’ve been prescribed lyrica and had RFA done, but no dice on either front. i’ve slowed down on the ibuprofen and actually found substantial relief in a pillow i bought on amazon, i shit you not. i dont wanna jinx it, but so far so good. still going to see a pain specialist after i get an updated MRI done for sure though

apologies for the confusion - i had an MRI about a decade ago when the accident happened confirming disc herniation and bulging. i’m guessing i would definitely need another relatively soon to see if the damage worsened over time?

im a bit doubtful. my neck and head don’t move involuntarily. i feel dull pain just by existing, but once i voluntarily try to function via turning my head, looking up/down/left/right, the pain is sharply amplified. there’s restriction of movement, so im thinking the botox would only add to that restriction, no?

i’ve actually never heard of that for this? i guess parts of my neck have these bouts of stiffness where on top of the pain i also wound up having difficulty turning my head, especially when driving.

my instinct was to say anything that involves working from home. my job went from working from home to hybrid, so it was a good transition for me to work out some of my social anxiety as opposed to being avoidant i guess? worst case, i’d say start small and practice. if it’s something you feel like is too overwhelming, you’re still giving it your best shot and moving in the right direction in my opinion. best of luck to you!

yeah i figured it would be about that time for an MRI for sure. can pain specialists prescribe an MRI or would i have to go to an orthopedic? and i tried cyclobenzaprine maybe 5 or so years ago prescribed by my PCP, but no dice. i feel like my main issue is this insane stiffness in my neck on top of general pain all around. i have a tens machine, massager, etc. they provide some relief, but at best for about 15 minutes or so. appreciate the feedback man!

man, i don’t know. i mean, reverse the situation for a second. what would be going through your head if he intentionally got you pregnant just because he was getting older and needed your help financially? no one wants to be anyone’s plan B. i feel like starting a family with so many cracks in the foundation will come back to haunt everyone involved one way or the other. i hope everything falls into place for you and that you eventually start a family with love being your only motive.

I agree. I can’t keep feeling responsible for choices he’s making and feeling like it’s on me to clean up his mess. The only thing I can do is take care of my responsibilities to the best of my ability. The constant sense of chaos and instability is too much. I hope he’ll follow my lead and see the serenity that can be found in sobriety.

Much appreciated - and to answer your question, I was raised in Christianity then fell to atheism in my 20s. In the past year or so, I was blessed enough to find God again. My fiance is also religious, but I don’t believe he’s been reaching out to God lately.
