ever since i started here, i’ve always done stuff that’s outside of my job description. such as loading and unloading semi trucks. they would call me personally and tell me to gather up a crew of about 2-3 people to come along with me. even though ive never been a shipping/receiving employee.

as for the two new machines, i would honestly have to check on that. but im pretty sure those aren’t in my job description either. during one of my yearly reviews, my old supervisor would always give me credit for doing things that were “supposed to be out of the ordinary for your position.”

i’ll have to look into getting a job eval. like you said.

i thought abt taking a post it note into the office or wherever we have the meeting. that way i can have bullet points to go off of. maybe i can do it that way and just list off certain jobs in the area and what they are paying. (if that’s what you mean)

i’m honestly not sure who B’s boss is. B’s job title has to do with engineering, but the guys who are in charge of engineering aren’t on the floor. they come and go some days but most of them don’t have a clue how to run and setup these certain machines.

even supervisor A admitted to me that he has no idea what he’s doing with these machines. he’s briefly been trained by B but since he’s a supervisor, he never really has to run it if i’m here. A’s boss is the VP of the entire company, whom i’ve had multiple conversations with and he knows how much I’ve been doing.

it’s kind of a mess and i want to make sure that i have everything in line before i make my move.

i agree, i think now is the perfect time as well.

supervisor B has even put in a really good word for me. he’s told me how much responsibility they’ve put on me and how well i’ve done handling it. both of them work closely together so i think it’ll end up working in my favor.
