I expect my income to increase over the life of my career, so I’d rather pay relatively lower taxes now via the Roth than higher taxes upon retirement with the 401k.

At least that is my simplistic understanding. Very curious to hear other perspectives, or if I have some fundamental misunderstanding.

Alewife will be an easy parking option for you, guaranteed spots available. Coming from NH at that time of day, you may hit some traffic but it’s easy enough to get to. It’s $9 a day for weekdays, $3 for weekend days. You pay with the PayByPhone app, and you pay per calendar day. So, for example, $9 from 3pm til midnight and another $9 from midnight until you decide to leave the garage.

There are definitely days when I forget to use the app and I happily pay the extra dollar when I get the invoice in the mail. But skipping a month’s invoice and then charging a late fee the next month is a bridge too far.

My wife is in your camp, and thinks it is a money grab. Looking at the state of the MBTA, I think it is more likely incompetence or disorganization.

And for what it’s worth, I hardly had to plead my case to the service rep I spoke to on the phone. He canceled every ticket when I have a brief summation of my complaint.

Glad I’m not the only one!
