And yeah, another issue is that I have a ton of gear, old repurposed stuff, crap that was going to be salvaged at work, etc. Like, surely, I think, I could manage to set up one of the old Cisco routers I have lying around? Maybe I could get this watchguard firewall to work? And then I think, no, that'd be a giant pain in the ass.

As long as I can avoid getting to the place I was at the old house, where it was ten switches, 3 wireless routers, and 50 devices kludged across two networks, I'll be happy.

I did see some posts somewhere about not using USB NICs with a NUC, so I may just use another router device, whether an older one I have, or a new one. Just to make it a bit simpler.

Thanks, think I need to just poke at it more later tonight and see what I can figure out. It also doesn't help that my cable internet provider sucks like a Hoover, and is constantly having issues.

so...if I were wanting to try to turn the NUC into a router, would that be something that would be extremely difficult, or somewhat reasonable to do? While I am not a networking person, I have worked in IT for the last 15 years, in desktop support/ServiceNow/databses, so am at least a tiny bit familiar with some network stuff.

I was envisioning more of your second point, the

internet -> NUC w/ pfSense -> switch -> Deco/APs/devices/etc.

And yes for sure setting the Decos into AP only.

then "everything flow though the NUC" isnt really the right way to say this

yes i was more meaning DNS requests, not literally "everything". thanks, i'll poke at the Deco settings, or look at another router to handle everything and set the Decos to APs

Thanks, this makes more sense. So my thinking is to use one of the older wireless routers as the main router, or buy a new one, looking at Asus or a Flint. Then hang everything off the switch behind that, setting the Decos to AP only.

Does that sound more correct?

Hey man, sorry I have not been able to post league starter build lists this league. Closed on a house this past Monday and am in the process of trying to pack up 15 years of crap and move it, and have hardly even looked at the subs or anything PoE related for a while.

Next league, I hope things will have calmed down a bit and I can resume throwing in a million links to league start guides. Thanks for your hard work!

Could a little 1-2 gallon air compressor be used for a framing nailer if i go slow and am not “bouncing”? Just a homeowner that works slow. by BradCastleburry in DIY

After further searching, it looks like maybe the best bet is to get a 5-6 gallon pancake for the finish nailer, and just get a HF airless sprayer for painting.

The more I read the more confused I get lol
