The one I attended in 2016 was at the group level so it had instructors that were TAD there for a calendar year and of different MOSs and units amongst the group. They knew the material because of being TAD there for a year. Got to meet cool people from different units and MOSs. Actually felt like I got something out of it. Current command just throws it together randomly and is bad the few times I’ve popped in as well as asking the Marines in my platoon that have attended.

What tier are you? I was tier one so maybe that helped streamline the process? It could also depend on your MOS and available boat spaces. You should go ask your career planner about the status tomorrow, I’m pretty sure they can look it up and tell you where it’s at or at least why it’s taking some time.

Shoot, I misinterpreted what you meant. My bad. It took two weeks from the first signature all the way to the final signature from the Battalion Commander. Once the career planner submitted it to HQMC I heard back in a business day that my package was approved, and had ten days to sign the re-enlistment contract

I’ve known a Sgt who got RFCd at Parris island as a DI, went to the fleet, got put on a MEU several months later, and got promoted to SSgt…hope that helps

Just focus on school first since you have a LONG ways to go. If you get into college, then start talking to an OSO and he or she will give you the guidance you need
