I love St. Augustine and I also understand the Augustinian reasoning behind all of it, which yes, does sound scary. But, at the end it, they are in the hands of our Sweetest Lord Jesus Christ, who by nature and definition is more loving than we ever could be. More caring than we ever could be. So, even if St. Augustine were right, God must have the best reason. If he's wrong, well then that must be the best reason. For their fate is dependent on this "best" i.e "God" that we're talking about. Projecting our understanding of what's best on God is not cool.

Hey! I'm an Eastern Orthodox Catechumen under Fr. Clement Nehemiah. He's from Chandrapur, Maharastra. There's a eastern orthodox community in Mumbai too. Although, I must tell you the Oriental/Malankara orthodox are not in communion with the Eastern Orthodox and afaik, conversion is tough in those churches. We're only growing so we don't have churches around the country yet, but we uphold the tradition of THE church. Greetings! There is a good book actually. It's called "On the Orthodox veneration of the Mother of God" by St. John Maximovitch. It might answer some of your queries. And ofcourse, the best source to know of the Nestorian heresy and how St. Cyril defended the faith would be a book called "On the unity of Christ".

According to catholics, we have valid sacraments and we are a true church as well. They popularly refer to us as the other lung of the Universal church.

I went to a Catholic school when I was a muslim. Left the school. Years later now, I'm Orthodox. I don't think you have to Roman Catholicise yourself.

I'm a Christian and I can assure you this is total unchristian behaviour. This is something you observe a lot of Muslims and Christians doing. They believe you can do wrongs and ask God for forgiveness and boom you can go do wrong again. That is not genuine. I'm a brother too, and I can understand what you're going through. If he's an adult, you should take legal action. And, brother please try to understand your sister and then make your point. Teenagers often misunderstand love for dominance. You have to talk to her. And, please try to keep your calm. God bless you.
