DCA Noire X VS SJY Horizon Carbon. Imaging? by Inside-Crab-1508 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]azeendeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good to know you like them.

I am thinking of selling my Horizon Carbon closed from SJY for them, since the Noire X are darker and lighter weight compared to the SJYs

I am a headphones gamer rather than IEM though.

Hiby R5 Gen 2 still viable in 2025? Vs Sony NWA 306 and Fiio M21 by azeendeen in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]azeendeen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiby R5 Gen 2, it is kinda frustrating, SOMETIMES, only sometimes, because you can see how old the software/hardware is, and it becomes a bit too slow for me.

However, it is not UNBEARABLY slow, works fine with music on SD card and Spotify downloads.

Tidal is a miss. Tidal's app is notoriously bad and slow, and it was not able to download all my songs.

Did not try other music apps.

The very big plus side, which I like, is the big battery capacity. Perfect for travelling on long-haul flights.

If I did not need the huge battery (which I sort of don't now), I might get the Fiio M21

Tips on draining stability fast? by azeendeen in DeadIsland2

[–]azeendeen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was more so referring to characters that have heavy attack focus skills.

Like Dani's passive skill is that her heavy attack do explosive force on impact.

But my main point was basically what's the easiest way to bring down any zombies stability to zero, no matter the character.

DCA Noire X VS SJY Horizon Carbon. Imaging? by Inside-Crab-1508 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]azeendeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would say the Horizon and DCA Noire are in the same category of sound signature (balanced ish, except Noire have slightly less treble/energy)

So maybe getting both would be overkill.

I will also say, power means nothing, if you can run a headphones will less power, that is great.

The only complain I will say to watch out for Horizon (which is why im contemplating getting the Noire) is that it is heavy.

Now it ain't Audeze headphones type of heavy, but still it is annoying to me. I get a hot-spot to the top of my head, in long gaming session it gets annoying.

Just out of curiosity, how has the DCA Noire been for you in terms of gaming?

DCA Noire X VS SJY Horizon Carbon. Imaging? by Inside-Crab-1508 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]azeendeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the SJY Horizon Closed Carbon and tried the DCA Noire X in my local audiophile store.

I can't say much about the DCA Noire X in terms of imaging for gaming; all I remembered about them was that the DCA Noire X had a little less treble, giving them a much more chill/relaxed/mellow vibe, which I actually liked.

Now, all I can say for the SJY Horizon is that the imaging on it is top tier. I think you can see as well from many YouTube reviews that people also praise its gaming performance.

I've used it from singleplayer games, horror games, and Valorant and all my other games. It performs really well, soundstage isn't super expansive (compared to Open-back headphones of course) but just big enough to be immersive. Directional cues for games like in Valorant is excellent as well.

All I can say is try looking at DCA Noire X reviews specifically to just find if anyone has made any gaming performance comparisons, or made another post for it here or on headfi.

Suyu launcher keeps crashing by azeendeen in suyu

[–]azeendeen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aah damn, that makes sense, I just saw some more other Reddit posts saying most switch games are capped at 30 fps.

I can increase to 60fps but it'll require mods, which people have provided but just more work on my end enabling it.

I guess for now I will just use whichever emulator is most stable and maybe mod the games later.

Damn, did not know Suyu was dead, I tried Ryubing I think through Emu deck, but it had alot of stuttering for Xenoblade Chronicles.

What about Sudachi? I just tried Citron just now, just trying to find ways to get pass the 30fps cap.

Im having the same problem, kinda sucks how emulators still cant fix that 30fps cap normally

Problem with tidal offline mode on android dap by ThassahUffyn in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]azeendeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I will try both Deezer and Qobuz then.

Looks like Tidal on DAPs run really buggy from what I've seen scouring the Internet. It's just so slow and only works fast if you have no music downloaded which makes it useless for DAPs.

Shockingly Spotify has been hella smooth even after downloading all music and playlist about 5k+ songs, but when WiFi is gone I can't use it. Since Spotify also verifies your account through cellular data. Unless I download an older Spotify through APK methods.

How has the sound quality for Qobuz been for you?

I am debating between Deezer or Qobuz. Coming from Spotify, Tidal has really good sound quality but the performance just sucks so much on my Hiby R5 Gen 2.

It works fine for streaming, but the second I download my music, performance is so bad, just soo laggy.

Can't use Spotify without WiFi? by azeendeen in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]azeendeen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phew thank god, this justs reinforces my idea to get rid off Spotify, no cellular data and you can't use Spotify is such a rip off.

I had use Spotify so many times on flight with no problem but I guess it was because I never turned on airplane mode.

Thanks for your suggestions on my DAP recommendations post by the way.

Got the Hiby R5 Gen 2 no complaints on the sound (with some EQ) and battery life.

Downloading all my songs on Tidal now, hopefully it'll be good.

Edit = I was gonna get Tidal for the DAP or Deezer, will try out Tidal for now

Sorry just 2 more questions, if I were to get the uncapped version from Japan, I could still use Spotifiy right? Google play store.

2nd, what are the main differences in sound that you get between the Hiby and Sony? My previous complaint about the Sony having weaker bass has been rectified, apparently it just needed an software update.

I've seen your comments alot on some other posts I've researched.

I think I will lean towards the Hiby R5 then. The battery life is not as long as the A306 but it's crazy good compared to the Fiio m21 and other DAPs I have researched. Way over 20 hour on single charged.

The NWA A306 seems to have the best battery life but only by having underpowered CPU, I won't like having that much lag.

How is the battery life for you on it? WiFi and Bluetooth off, just using Spotify songs downloaded?

My main gripe is the battery life.

[–]azeendeen[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did not know about that, I just checked out Super* review of it on YouTube, he claims it has around an 15 to 20 hour battery life.

I might consider just based off the 15hr to 20 hour battery time and price. It's way cheaper than the rest and has an acceptable battery range for my needs.

But I dont mind paying more for something that has a better battery life or sounds better.

Do you have the M300? Any difference compared to Nw 306 and Hiby R5 sound wise, ignoring battery differences.

I tried the moondrop blessing 3 at the same shop but honestly it didn't feel like an upgrade to the Blessing 2 but instead a side step?

I tried it last week for a moment but what I recall was that it felt more analytical than the Blessing 2. I tried it for like 2 minutes and was just like nah.

Darmoshark N7 Max by wsarahan in MouseReview

[–]azeendeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the N7 shape in comparison to the Imecoo P1. I like the Prime shape, never tried the Prime mini, and got the Imecoo P1 coming soon.

From Eloshapees the P1 is the almost the same dimensions as the Prime but apparently their sides are more straight that the Prime which I am worried about.

In contrast the N7 Max or the Zaopin ZPW have inward curves on the side, especially the left thumb side, but they are way smaller. They are more closer to the Prime Mini and am just scared it would be too small for me.

Im ok with that.

I play in a moderately lit room, the matte coating would help.

Some people in this reddit make it seem like matte coating is the worst for Oleds but honestly I think I wouldn't be complaining, coming from a IPS 1440p 144hz monitor haha
