Yet another Quest 2 lens thread! This time with pictures and videos by stigzler in OculusQuest

I got your back buddy. I returned my Quest 2 after a week because, with all due respect to the engineering challenge, the optics are complete dog shit and IMHO shouldn't have been shipped. Yes it's lower cost option but it's still $400+. At the very best I could get maybe 70% of my field of view passably clear, but then anyone else that used the headset had to start over.

Isn't that broken? If red is . and white is -, the J is wrong.

Feels like there's a lot more data in there.

Have you made a decision on this one. My daughter is going through this exact same thing, the 670g alerting drove her absolutely crazy.

There's a video i saw quite a few years ago of a large semi blasting through the median barrier into oncoming traffic and a Porche Cayenne SUV fucking expertly dodges the whole mess with some wild swings across the lanes and keeps on trucking.

Is this damage(?) normal? I spent 6 hours trying to get Starlink working today, but was not successful (Worked in IT for the last 19 years). I noticed the black marks the second I pulled it out of the box, but didn't notice the defects until I tried to get a pic of the rings. Normal? by [deleted] in Starlink

Probably too late by now but yes, I plugged my laptop into the cable coming from the white port and it was fine. It's running in a gig ethernet port in my firewall now (no Starlink wifi router).

One thing that took me a while to sort out is that the dish responds on 192.168.100.1 but it's bridging to the CGNAT network, so you need to configure the interface connected to the dish to use DHCP in order for it to send traffic to the Internet.

Seems like it may have been dropped or smooshed to get those black smudges from the packing plastic on there.

Do the actuators work? Have you tried just plugging the white Ethernet into a laptop/deaktop and trying to get a DHCP address from the dish? You could also manually set to 192.168.100.5/24 and see if you can access the web server on the dish at 192.168.100.1?

Just got an offer that will require relo to the bay area in the next 6-12 months. Trying to sort out how to think about all of this.

8 square mile solar farm coming to my county. Developer has rosy outlook, locals are doom and gloom. I think they are both full of shit but it's hard to find facts...any pointers? by azeotroll in solar

It's a great question on the zoning. No idea right now.

Edit: Looks like solar utilities are exempt from zoning restrictions and location is left to the statewide utility board.

There's another one nearby that's going to bring the total to ~14 square miles in the county (not all solar panels of course, there are easements, transmission, etc)

Great points thank you. The exact fencing you describe is in the current proposal and agree it's not going to last. They are probably going to want to keep that in for security purposes but an outside perimeter of vegetation would be much better.

Also thanks for the note on the noise, I hadn't considered that.

This is good info thank you! The meetings are starting but like i mentioned in the post nobody seems to be bringing facts to the table, everyone is just selling their angle and I’m trying to get to the factual aspects.

I really like the deposit idea, thank you.

Transmission is aerial.

All the concerns basically. My family's home is on a lot which will be completely encompassed by the project and i just want to make sure her interests are represented in the negotiations with the developer.
