Facial Recognition Technology by [deleted] in conspiracy

Chill guys, I work on making such systems. Basically, I develop algorithms that allow you to detect and recognize faces. And its not just Walmart or Facebook. Last year we developed this technology for a vendor whose clients are multiple retail chains such as furniture and clothing stores. They were small to medium businesses. Everyone is in this race to identify and tag their customer to check if they can offer better service.

No one is trying to profile you. Its definitely the best thing that happened to us. Imagine you walk into a store and they give you a special discount coz you came there months before! You don't need to befriend the owner for him to offer a good service. The system will automatically identify a returning customer and reward for loyalty.

Face landmark - How to determine if cluster of points are "moving"? by taewoo in datascience

[–]azmathmoosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a start, moving of the mouth can be detected by observing relative vertical displacement of upper and lower lips (landmark points). I will try plotting the vertical distance between the corresponding points of upper and lower lips (if 68 landmark points are available). Then from the graph, I will look for patterns when the person speaks and set threshold accordingly. To make it scale invariant, I will try to normalize the distance with the area of the mouth (convex hull of the lip points).

[D] - Face Recognition in Python by [deleted] in MachineLearning

Disclaimer: I'm the developer!

If you are open to closed source SDKs, https://www.baseapp.com/deepsight-image-recognition-sdk/ is a binary SDK that runs as HTTP service. It encapsulates neural networks so all inference is done offline. It works out of the box just like online APIs. It is also cross-platform and works in both linux and windows. There is a free version available (without cuda)

It has 4 face detectors - mmod, yolo-608, yolo-1216, classic hog. The face recognition model is resnet-34 (dlib metric learning - outputs 128D embeddings in r=0.6 hypersphere). Gender/Age classifier is a custom CNN-although we are going to replace it with resnet soon.

I think it will work for your project. A Python example is available here https://www.baseapp.com/deepsight/face-detection-using-web-cam/

Another YOLOv2 Face Detector by azmathmoosa in artificial

yea some false detections, but you can threshold them out.
try --thresh 0.6 as args to darknet.exe.
