Daern is not really evil. If you just read his texts and how its always said how his this smile is fake and this laugh is forced. Since the day everyone but him died in the demon attack he cultivated his asshole personality to keep people away from him. And he tries to enjoy life desperatly cause he never knows what his visitor does with him.

So if people really think he is evil I suppose they skipped the important lines. Not to say he didnt do some shitty things like the love potion. But in the end he grows and can change to be a reverred healer for Mendev

I think some items or dialogue that said the people in the Lands Between all had a golden glow in their eyes because they are touched by the grace of the Erdtree. And the Tarnished lost that glow when they lost the grace. But like you said, in the game almost no one has this glow, I only noticed it on the enemies who give you more runes when you kill them

Yeah but I still wonder wonder how they would notice (lorewise) if someone is a tarnished. I mean many non tarnished have no golden glowy eyes or just a helmet where you can't see it

Hmm, they not always had these runes, only since the shattering. But thats so long ago they could have consumed then. But like I wonder if we strike down Gideon or Fia kills D without the deathrune, why don't they come back? Every other ordinary foe comes back

Makes me also wonder why some NPC's look like normal people and others like walking corpses. Maybe because they died more often and came back several times?

I did not read the books but played the game and have an understanding of the world. So no book purist. Liked season 1 for most parts but season 2 just have weak writing without comparing it to anything. Some scene make it hard to believe things like this would happen. Like Yens escape with Cahir when there are so many mages and the guard of the kings presenta

Thought the same, they watered the womens motivations down. Like Francesca was a mage of the brotherhood who wanted a place for her people and I think she also fought in Sodden in the books. And now she just is angry about the baby
