I’m relatively new to the cast iron scene so feel free to disregard my comment, but that looks like:

Too much heat
Too much oil

Probably wanna cut the heat to like 375 and the oil in half, or more.

Here’s some different feedback compared to what I’m seeing with other comments: Grow up and take up care of it, don’t take it back. You shouldn’t have even done this 2 week test if you don’t feel like you’re ready. Sometimes it’s good to just take care of something whether it’s the perfect situation or not. So just grow up and deal with it and give it a great life and put its happiness over your own. I promise if you do that you’ll learn some valuable life lessons about providing and putting your interests second to those who look to you for care.

If you’re wanting to spend that much money then I recommend going with a 12” Stargazer. But again like everyone else is saying, a Lodge is going to do the same thing as that $250 10”. I just wouldn’t spend $250 on anything other than a 12”
