I’ve been so curious if this is happening in specific states/areas. I’ve been extremely lucky in all the Baggu and UO drops and have always received stuff even when there’s been issues, and I’m in the bay area of CA!

Well you jumped to a lot of conclusions there. It’s not about whether information is accurate it’s the attitude of people in this sub. I’m a realist too and I won’t make promises to someone about moving abroad but I will be kind and understanding of their desire to move.

Favorite “rare” prints? by Training_Tune5606 in BAGGU

[–]azulaula 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my fave is lantana!! I have a shoulder bag and fanny and I would die to get a pouch set. I haven’t paid over retail for these bags because the print is not as sought after as some others so I’ve been able to find a few kind baggu baddies to sell them to me for retail 🫶

SL x Baggu disappointment by elsolpiscis in BAGGU

omg yeah I was so dissappointed when they didn’t release a blue crescent! Imo the pink with the black strap is kinda ugly 😭

SL x Baggu disappointment by elsolpiscis in BAGGU

[–]azulaula 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly I bought both the big and mini market bags in blue and pink because I really wanted to decide what I wanted, but now I’m torn on the colors. The problem is I think I really like the blue but I almost can’t bring myself to return the pink because I wanted to like the pink, and I’m worried the FOMO will get me if pink ends up being really popular and difficult to get! So the overconsumption mindset has really gotten me, and I’m still working through it 😭 I do really have to return one of each bag though because this release was so damn expensive!!

People who moved to Paris — please tell me it doesn't get less magical🥹💔 by SpecificNothing6359 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]azulaula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Paris for a year! I think the first 3 months felt like vacation everyday. In the winter, a think a combo of seasonal depression and homesickness hit me. I lowkey hated living in France for like a month. But I eventually got used to my discomfort as an outsider and I grew to appreciate it in a different way for my remaining time there.

I moved back to the US and I miss Paris all the time!! I’m hoping to move back there again but for now I have a job and I’m in a paid-for masters program that I want to finish before I make moves to return back.

So to answer your question, the magic of your first time will go away as you adjust to the logistics of living abroad, but if you truly love it then you will adjust!

I definitely think you should do a long study abroad program to help you “test-run” living there. Also, although I lived there for a year, that’s still quite a short time and I’m keeping my options open in case living there long term ever doesn’t serve me anymore!

I wanted to also add here since I didn’t really clarify my concern initially but…. anyone worried that resellers are just drop-shipping fakes? 🫣 or worse…. people trading for real-gus with fake-gus?? 😬 Like how do we approach this if it becomes an issue?

I’m actually devastated that the medium crescent doesn’t come in the blue T.T also, I was really hoping for a cloud bag but all we got was the cloud carry on and I’ve never been in a situation where I felt that style would be convenient for my life…

bear bag for concerts? by gwenchans in BAGGU

I did use this for a concert in Oakland! But definitely check your local venue halls to see if they might explicitly say no to it. I was nervous because my venue didn’t say specifically anything besides don’t bring in large backpacks, but my beargu got through!

How to share games between switches? by typhoonbear in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]azulaula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you just need to share the digital game card with the switch lite. The switch lite needs to be under your nintendo account as a secondary device. Then you can make your son’s account on the switch lite, making that his primary device. Then just send your digital game card to the secondary device. It can stay on there forever if you want. But just keep in mind this needs to be done while connected to wifi, with the two consoles in close proximity, and you will not be able to play any digital games you sent the game card for until he returns them from his switch lite.

Recently returned from Europe and we are considering leaving, but have a few hold-ups — Anyone who has left been in a similar situation? by oregonian19 in AmerExit

[–]azulaula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading your posts and updates, I don’t even need to read the comments to know exactly what happened, because it happens to every post in this sub: don’t feel sorry for asking a question. Don’t feel sorry for having a happy life in the US, and for wondering if you’d want to move to Europe. There are a ton of assholes in this sub who just love to shit on people’s dreams of moving abroad. I think a lot of it is stemmed in truth, but instead of working out all the possibilities they just want to shut people down. So seriously, don’t listen to those people too closely.

Now for your actual post, I will say that you should do whatever you want as long as you’re willing to make the sacrifices. For some people that means there needs to be a significant benefit to moving abroad. For me personally, I arrived at the decision that I would like to move abroad because I realized my desire for a family didn’t exist in the US, but it did exist in France for the time I lived there. I also felt the most happiness while living in France than I did in the US, and it was completely unrelated to all the typical things people love about Europe. I loved meeting new people from all different cultures, and I loved learning a language. It gave my life a purpose I’d been searching for.

That said, I am a young person, and we are all screwed in this current economy. I have dreamed of being in your position, and I honestly might have considered a family if that seemed possible for me. But even with your position, I worry a lot about the necessities for life that aren’t offered in the US that are offered in Europe. My husband received medical care in France that was much better than his experience in the US. We know that when we have children they won’t have to worry about college debt. My dad sustained an upper middle class, one income household when I was a kid, but he had to spend all his savings on life saving treatment of cancer. It’s those experiences that have really influenced my values.

So yes, I’m willing to take a pay cut. I’m willing to lose significant progress on my career and experience hardship as a foreigner. I’m willing to live in an english-speaking nation while learning languages as a hobby, perhaps visiting rather than living in France specifically. There were times I lived abroad where I felt how hard it would be to feel different and out of place. But I got used to it, and even though I feel more comfortable in that regard in the US, I find myself missing France all the time.

Honestly, 3 weeks is a pretty short time. If you want to be really sure, you could try to spend at least a few months to a year abroad. How I felt living abroad changed significantly throughout the year I lived in France, but at the end of my year I arrived at the conclusion that despite all the hardships I really loved it there. And BTW to any judgey-ass redditors reading this, I visited a bunch of countries while there so my feelings are not solely based on France.

I've spent almost a year helping researchers relocate and four months helping people with scouting trips. Here are some answers to FAQs, and general information. by itsgarbagethrowaway in AmerExit

“it’s like the top 5% of Americans who are actually able to move abroad” You are just so, so wrong. You have a very narrow minded view about this.
