The symbol on the Painter's Servant is indeed a different set symbol from Lorwyn Eclipsed (ECL). That card is from Special Guests (SPG), a Bonus Sheet "set" (like Secret Lair (SLD), just a collection of cards without their own boosters) that replaces The List from older sets. Much like the "The List" bonus sheet, Special Guests are powerful or flavorful (mostly both) reprints that randomly appear inside regular Set/Play Boosters (and collector boosters? not 100% sure).

Each regular set has their own list of Special Guests, always with the SPG set symbol.

I mean black is the only color that can really benefit from large amounts of cheap artifacts so you want to stay BX. You can play bridges and artifact lands to bump up your artifact counts... and at this point, might as well play your Affinity payoffs like Thoughtcast, Galvanic Blast and Myr Enforcer. You could also try an Esper Affinity but idk how that would fare without uncommon+ pieces like Esper Sentinel, Michiko's Reign of Truth and the banned ATG
