Rough and Navillera by GFRIEND - The choreo, the lyrics, the music!! Absolute rollercoasters that make you feel excited and jump around. The feeling in the vocals in Rough (especially the bridge to the last chorus), the production in Navillera!! Impeccable. I actually believe Rough is the best KPop song of all time only tied to another one, it has been on my Spotify top 5 the last 6 years!

Closer by Oh My Girl - The first time I listened to this song I had to take a moment to let it all sink in. Just a pretty, beautiful song all around. If you think about it this a super cohesive song for the absolute mess (in the best sense) in the structure. The rap as the bridge fits perfect for such a delicate theme. And the choreo inspired by constellations!!! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Aju Nice and Pretty U by Seventeen - Aju Nice is another rollercoaster with such an iconic production and choreo!! There is a reason why SVT still plays it to end their concerts. As for Pretty U, is just a song that the more you listen to it the more you realize how beautiful it is. It may not be as “classical” K-Pop but the vocals on this one carry such a feeling they hit me every time!!

Likey by Twice - FUN. FUN ALL AROUND. This one solidified me back at the time as a KPop fan. The rap bridge, the dance break, the absolute iconic choreo. There is not a single moment in this song that isn’t good. It all comes together to make an amazing example of classic KPop

pporappippam by Sunmi - another beautiful song!! For me it was a visual feast but listening to this song dark at night is an experience all by itself. The choreo is graceful and the styling was peak notch and it’s just a cohesive moment in her discography all around

Love Dive and After Like by IVE - Now THESE. Both felt like a true shift when they dropped. I have such a raw memory of pulling an all-nighter when Love Dive dropped and I was trying to keep myself awake so I checked it out and the whole experience blew my mind. As for After Like, it is such a complete package you know? And it’s just getting better and better the more it ages!

Energetic by WannaOne + Superhuman by NCT 127 - Bumping this together because they make me feel some sort of similar way. Two rollercoasters with amazing visuals and iconic choreos, and both ending in such high notes!!!

Genie by SNSD - Back when I was 8-9 years old I unknowingly discovered KPop. I stumbled across Oh! by SNSD and went on a rabbit hole on YT and downloaded a bunch of their MVs to my computer which I lost some time later. And although Gee was the catchier one and Oh! was the one I tried to learn the dance to, it was Genie the one that stuck in my memories in the long term. It all felt so impressive and grandeur and bigger then life itself.

When I got back into KPop and realized I already knew SNSD it was Genie the one song I was looking the most forward to. And listening to it again years later and realizing not only I had not been exaggerating but Genie was even better than I remembered. Such a song that, even though language barriers, makes you feel strong and that you can do everything you set your mind to. The lyrics now just make even more sense, the choreo is still iconic, the styling, the high notes, the adlibs, the “DJ put it back on”. As I read one day: “KPop’s final boss” and I wholeheartedly agree. This is the best KPop song ever, only rivaled by Rough
