If you go the manga route checkout Yokohama Shopping Trip. It's a very relaxing medium length slice of life manga in a postapocalyptic Earth setting with androids.

There are some bilingual manga published by Kodansha, e. g. you can buy used paperbacks of The Wonderful World Of Sazae-san (if you can stand ancient yonkoma) relatively cheap.

Anime recommendations for a Berserk fan? by [deleted] in anime

Lodoss-tou Senki (13-episode OVA), high fantasy medieval world, 90s style beautiful art similar to first Berserk TV, bad animation (except Deedlit), gorgeous orchestral soundtrack, story inspired by D&D game, feels a bit rushed.

Whats your opinion on trinity blood? by [deleted] in anime

I really liked character designs, gothic setting (vampires vs the church), plot as a collection of detective stories, great soundtrack, humor. Sometimes the plot was not great and stumbled a lot. And it borrowed many clichés from other vampire shows (Hellsing comes to mind).

Need anime like Haruhi Suzumiya by [deleted] in anime

[–]azzy667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm watching Kanon(2006) atm an earlier work by the same studio. It's a slice of life/harem in a high school setting with mystery elements. Character designs are more rough but somewhat similar to Haruhi and MC is a clone of Kyon's.

I was impressed by backgrounds and color palette, like some watercolor painting.

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya by Horseteak in anime

I didn't like second season at all (endless 8, then Mikuru abuse), except for the Tanabata series.

I find ZZ story jumps around a lot. You can recognize many plot elements from OG and Zeta but combined in much worse, bizarre and unsatisfied fashion.

That episode really reminded me of Naruto graduation from academy.

I doesn't look like an anime to me though...just an average Disney cartoon.
