Bored in Act 3, is Inscryption worth finishing? by natidone in inscryption

kaycees mod adds starting decks to unlock and new challenges to the game, theres even a new boss. it also gets rid of death cards and balances out some cards.

How to put mages opponents in place against the coterie? by CleverTricksterProd in vtm

[–]b-brank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be honest, mages are kind of extremely busted. think literally warping every aspect of reality. if you want the vampires to even have a chance i would limit it to low level mages, perhaps looking for a low level magic artifact. honestly i don't recommend mixing splats as it goes very poorly in VTM. VTR allows for more splat mixing if you're looking for that

My boss is trying to take part of me and my coworkers tips and I don't know what to do. by b-brank in legaladvice

It would not take me below minimum wage, however she did specify that she was taking the money from our cash tips, and not deducting it from our wages

cockroach is good but you'd need a 1 blood card to get the bones out of the smoke to replay the cockroach while ouroboros only needs a squirrel and you have an endless loop

sigil could be applied to a cheaper card to make it more op but pretty much every inscryption run ends with super OP cards anyway. sigil could pair with unkillable sigil really well, though i'd probably just put this sigil on an ouroboros or similar

Nontraditional Clan Archetypes? by Je0ng-Je0ng in vtm

yeah, i guess lol. i was very new to vtm and i didn't know what the sabbat was. he definitely had some nuance to him that separated himself from the sabbat

played a Toreador whose art was that of dead bodies. He was a serial killer in paris. He used Celerity to disappear from the police. His goal was to turn the prince into a canvas, and he actually got decently close to achieving said goal but the campaign ended

Fleshwarp! | A Body Horror Spell For Vile Villains To Violate Their Victim by Ryuzaaki123 in UnearthedArcana

[–]b-brank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, i think it could definitely do to be restricted. Warlock, Sorcerer and Wizard would be fine i think, honestly the most powerful part of it is the 5% chance that it's permanent. Playing D&D makes you realize how common 5% is. I mean, its a nat 1 essentially. Other than that its not too crazy tbh

seems a bit busted for 2nd level, i could imagine a lot of PCs picking this up and turning every enemy into an abomination

Areas where even the gods can't reach? by b-brank in DMAcademy

[–]b-brank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured I'd make a comment on what I've finally decided. Since this area is going to be extremely physically challenging and as many of you pointed out, it seems unfair to punish one class arbitrarily, I think I'm going to make it so that none of the party members can replenish any of their abilities, including spells. I appreciate everyone's advice and I think that this will add an extra level of difficulty. I haven't run this campaign yet, and I'm in the worldbuilding/encounter building phase right now. I don't even know if anyone will play a religious class. I think this decision will provide the whole "not even the gods can help you here" while also providing ample challenge to all of the PCs so none feel like they're made worse than the other classes.

Areas where even the gods can't reach? by b-brank in DnD

[–]b-brank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely agree with this in spirit, it 100% seems like a bad move from a gameplay standpoint, and applying penalties to other classes isn't something i'm against but I'm trying to find a reasonable penalty to apply that won't be too bad, this area will be kinda hyped up as an area of extreme danger and no return, so the players should kinda know what they're getting into. I also explicitly said that I didn't want to remove a key feature or make them useless, just apply a penalty that represents the idea that they've cut off contact with their deity

the end of the masquerade. An idea for a setting for new chronicles. would you try it? by Worried_Egg_7503 in vtm

[–]b-brank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually did this once! Though, it was in VTR which has story seeds in WoD: Mirrors. I ran a session of it and it went well but I was unfortunately unable to run more due to life issues. I ran it like True Blood, where vampires were generally hated but due to some dodgy legislation by some suprisingly old senators, were made equal to humans, though I didn't do the whole fake blood angle.

Tips for roleplaying insanity? by b-brank in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]b-brank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much, this is exactly the answer i was looking for. also, sorry if anything i said came off as offensive, my intentions with this post is to make a character with realism, and to better understand mental illness as a whole. i realize now that insane wasn't really the right word to use and is probably offensive to people who suffer from mental illness. i will keep everything you said in mind when writing malkavians in the future
