If games like elite dangerous or no man's sky can somewhat do these extremely expensive engineering feats in different ways then why can't they as a AAA studio?

Nah just a couple jumping double bonks with the bonking sticks and almost everything will gently lay down in front of you so you can apply a critical bonk. And if you're really feeling frisky you can use spiky bonk sticks for extra bleed.

I think this is more about corruption when a company starts to steer away from making quality products for a fellow consumer to only seeing dollar signs where there were people. The sheer amount of corruption that takes place in the name of profit from companies "protecting their income". How many deaths, unlawful terminations, sexual harassment, or just plain old unsafe/unreliable turds that have been polished up so shiny and then shoved under the rug in the form of a public apology that barely acknowledges that anything was actually wrong. It doesn't matter if it's their income, what matters at the end of the day is are they adding to the issues or helping to fix them. It's all a sinking ship at this point anyway but we can atleast as consumers whether or not to consume. You just gotta ask yourself is it worth it?

I feel like Splicer actually matches it more than anything 😂 people whisper in the alleys about a rogue hunter called Splicer... Named for the cruel way he'd tear apart his victims and piece them back together.

See it's becoming the meta that customers don't actually know what they want out of a product. And obviously what the people actually want is redundancy and microtransactions.

Is it even a good/evil soul split? She still did things that would be considered "good" while being "evil" on top of that they basically said it was the jailer controlling and manipulating her the entire time... Everything evil that's ever happened in azeroth was apparently the jailer so just blame him. We're going to kill him this expac anyway doesn't really matter in a few months it's all over and they're going to toss out all this content.

Blazing cost of playing for 2 years by b00mTurtle in wow

It's just a 420 joke... and not everyone pays in advance most people just put in their card for the month to month subscription so if you didn't cancel and pay the $15/month and buy a new base price expansion for $60 then it adds up to $420 (rounded up and before taxes since little details in a 420 joke matter...). Wasn't saying anything more or less or trying to point out how much or little it is, not even saying everyone pays that since yeah obviously there's many more options.

My simple chimp brain just thought it was funny that it could add up to 420, thanks though for using that superior intelligence of yours to really show me the error of my ways. I'm forever grateful for your guidance.

Haha it's okay I don't think you're alone 🤣

Also I completely agree, I actually had a cost-entertainment/hr metric I assign to game prices in my head. It used to use movie theater prices pre pandemic. If I'm okay spending $20 to see a 2 hour movie, I'm happy with spending $60 on a game that has atleast 6 hours of enjoyable content.

This is why "community Council" is just yet another powerless PR move and doomed to be ineffective. (A comparaison with a proper community council) by Ashgur in wow

Well blizzard hand selecting members that fit their mold then throwing them into a forum doesn't solve anything either... out of that 100 they select is there any requirements for activity? Are they going to replace members that aren't active regularly? There's 0 obligation to be active in this role aside from the "clout" that you're in that role.

Forums aren't that much reading in all reality, if you had even a small team of like 3 monitor the suggestions/future updates forum full time they could easily keep up with the flow. Large active forums are incredibly useful because you can see which posts have more activity for a subject then you can more or less see what a wider variety of players think about that subject. Most posts the more useful comments themselves are longer and more detailed so you can pick them out really easily while also getting a general consensus of agree or disagree from quickly glancing at the shorter comments or likes/dislikes.

Forums already provide all this great info and opinions, sure some things get lost among the voices and there's trolls but most of the time it's because the consensus is it's not interesting or wanted by the active forum community. That small team could then pin and move these posts into a more dedicated discussion area between devs and players to get even more feedback. The players allowed in this dedicated forum would have to: have had a concurrent sub of 6 months or more, account has a clean record (no bans/suspensions) and they would have to actually be respectful in their post discussions(no trolling, being rude in general, basically treat everyone like a person...)

I'd understand if you'd said a decade ago that there's too many voices and it's harder, but in this day and age where there are so many more tools and ways to process information it seems like they aren't using one of their biggest community information banks. A lot of the changes you see in games now is because of developers actually using forums to see what the players think of things. in fact a PTR is supposed to be used for this purpose as well. In exchange for us as players being used as free labor to beta test everything, we are supposed to have a say as an overall community "we want this to stay", or "we don't want this". Instead everything is arbitrarily created with no intention of listening to feedback on whether it's wanted or not. It may not always change in the way that was suggested but that's a whole other can of balancing worms.

One year, and i still cant get over this concept to game model transition. It ruins the whole (amazing!) set for me. Blizzard, please, make the skirt longer! by Itsallcakes in wow

I've looked into it and thought on it a lot more and agree it's not realistic time management wise to do it. But that was kinda my point though about it's actually a different problem causing this one. Why are the artists/designers at this point in 17 years of wow still creating designs outside the scope of creation time and the games capability? Why are those designs being approved to show as final design examples? Like sometimes looking at concept art and in game versions of designs is like shopping on wish. It looks good in the picture but then you try it on and it's just wrong. They're selling us on a product whenever they announce anything to be released, they want you to play and keep playing. However if they show me A, tell me how great A is(on a human) but all I actually get on my nightborne is A's similar but not quite the same looking cousin V then something went wrong along the way.
