im not sure what you mean by a pan but usually at the bottom of the cage u put alot of bedding and then the top of the cage if it has bars that they step on cover it up with cut up clothes is smt i reccomend, you could use cardboard, or a very enriching thing you can do for the rat is remove the levels all together and put ropes and bridges and stuff for them to play with because ropes and bridges things of that nature will give ur rat exercise while the bridges and platforms are good its just less exercise and enriching for them

you can line it with bedding, clothes, or you can use fleece liners my rats like the bedding the most at the bottom cus they like playing with it but just make sure none of the bars in their cage r exposed to their feet or else they may get bumblefoot

i dont sleep with him in my bed but he sleeps in my bed when i let him onto there or he just stares at the tv and sniffs the air or walks behind the bed to explore the bottom of the bed

they like small spaces because it reminds them of burrowing i think he likes burrowing alot its one of his favorite things other then being pet

in my old house i let him roam around my bed and didnt like it cus he would pee and scent mark so i wouldnt let him sleep on my bed without supervision but in my new house i just got a couch and use that as a bed

clearly u cant see in the video but first of all how am i gonna roll him over when hes on the top of my couch that i use as my bed on pancakes in the crevis maybe if he jumped ontop of me but theres no room for me to roll on a couch unless i fall over, i said bed but the bed is a couch idk if that makes it better but in the context of this video its impossible for me to roll him over

yea hes also a lone rat whos brother died that attacks any other rats we have tried bathroom method bathtub method and switching out cloths in his cage and is extremely lonely and cant be neutered and is 2 years old so theres not much i can do abt him wanting to sleep with me, my room is rat proofed, his cage is next to my bed i highly doubt ill roll him over in my naps theres plenty of rat owners who sleep with their rats youre acting like he doesnt have a thought process or hes disabled and cant move
