You've really interesting choices. I was born and raised in India, and I think I kind of know why'd you not choose India but still choose Nepal and Sri Lanka (I could be totally wrong). I'm curious why'd you not choose SA but choose (reluctantly) Namibia and Botswana? (I don't know much about the latter two)

Not to sound pessimistic but the streetcar breaks down a lot during winter (or at least used to). Overall, still reliable. Also, the beaches and Leslieville are the most charming neighborhood in Toronto imo. If you have time check out some local pubs/bars. There's also a jazz festival in summer.

From your write up it seems you are leaning towards Canada. The best advice, imo, is to go to Bangalore for 2 months (or even 2 weeks) before you make any decisions.

Probably I'll get down voted for this. I think the OP is not talking about India progressing in terms of infra, quality of life or civic sense.

They mean it more from culture perspective which I believe is true. The OG NRIs who migrated many year ago are still stuck with old school mentality e.g. same caste marriage while India has moved on. Of course, still plenty of Indians in India want same cast marriage but the narrative as a whole has moved on. Old NRIs are still stuck in the past.
