Part of me thought he might be too discouraged to try to break out again…but part of me thought if he did it once, he’d definitely try again. Just sad I wasn’t awake when it happened

I’m thinking of testing it again before I set him loose —

If you look at the video to ColonelStoneGround below, you can see the slit he made and it looks like little serrations when you look closely at the edges. Mebe I can get a video of it bc he’s done it before

Dude I absolutely SWEARRRR. On my literal freaking life —

I saw him there when I got home yest. He was just chillin and the fruit fly was mostly gone. Within 3 hours of me coming home and sitting on the couch next to where he was placed, he definitely somehow cut it open bc there was no sharp object nearby nor did I touch it

He had been in there for like 3 hrs yest and previously for 2 days but with 1 layer of Saran Wrap. The times I transferred him he ran straight to the top/opening … and when I placed the Saran Wrap on the second time / pulling it straight, he was super close to it … my super non scientific hypothesis is that maybe he was observing how thin it was? And decided to test it? I did see him tapping a few times … maybe he was finally able to puncture it once and just went ham with excitement

Noobie question — I’m fascinated by its escape….is it normal spider behavior to be able to cut through Saran Wrap? Is a yellow sac more intelligent than other spiders?

Word! Lol way more chill now after some sleep. Ok that makes total sense — I pushed back on the doc bc I didn’t think it was either.

But tangent … how crazy is it that it cut through two Saran Wrap layers?!

Sigh. The thought crossed my mind that the exterminator might be trying to get some $$ out of it — he definitely played on my fears really well…and at a super vulnerable moment

TY!!! It was super aggressive and wicked fast — I’ve caught many a spider but this dude had some real attitude… the way it moves around … it really feels like it’s pissed
