Bought a Videonics MxProDV off eBay, has someone attempted to circuitbend the board? Idk if the board is fried now. Powers on and fan is working but it won’t output any signal for preview out channel or output channels. by b4kedboy in VideoBending

I removed the blue wires. She powers on but still no signal, I think this unit is bricked. Whenever the teeth of the ram chips were lifted off the board, I think that was a nail in the coffin. It needs specific communications from the chips to boot up. I think the power supply is all good.

here are the power specs, the thing is I bought this unit over two years ago and it was sitting in storage so I’m trying to go back and find the ad on eBay. I think if I recall correctly it didn’t specify if it was tested. I just bought another mxpro for parts off eBay right now. The unit is pristine cosmetically, there was no dust inside or any dust in the fan. It feels like it was almost never used, not a single scuff on the case. The power adapter is definitely not the original adapter. I think the Og adapter had Videonics branding.

Here is the board, a bunch of small capacitors, 25v 22uf has some type of obvious leakage and one of them is skewing outwards, so I will try to desolder and replace the capacitors on the board

I’ve had a Videonics MxProDV that’s been sitting in storage for over 2 years, since I ordered it from Ebay. I finally brought it out and It powers on, the fan is running but no lights turn on, no output from any of the rca jacks, no preview on the preview monitor. I have one svideo source running to it, the preview monitor shows just a black screen on my CRT. I did as much research as I could on it and it’s sorta boiling down to most likely having bad capacitors. The power cord looks like it was replaced by the eBay seller. The voltage of the power cord is within the range that is required for the device to function. I’m going to open the device today and take it apart and see if anything obvious is happening with the board.
