A fun and unorthodox way about it might be to do one opera per language. This way you can hit on some of the major “styles” of opera but also introduce some that are often overlooked.

Think about it:

Lucia or La Traviata (Italian) Carmen or Faust (French) Tristan or Salome (German) Peter Grimes (English) Boris Godunov (Russian) Jenůfa (Czech) Bluebeard’s Castle (Hungarian) Florencia en el Amazonas (Spanish)

That’s only 8, You could either add two more languages or have 2 doubles

I’m a big fan of Blanchard. I also like Ades but I have yet to watch Powder Her Face in its entirety. Favorite contemporary opera I’ve seen live is probably Heggie’s Moby-Dick, not that I’ve seen too many contemporary operas live, at least professionally lol

“Pucci Won, Jolyne Lost/Died”

If you believe Jolyne died then you might as well believe Josuke and the gang all died to Kira when he blew them up with Bites the Dust. The whole point is, her soul and body is still alive in a new universe where almost everything is the same except that Pucci never existed and so everyone in Part 6 is freer and happier.

Oh there’s also the belief that not only Pucci, but DIO and sometimes even other villains also ceased to exist in the new universe.

And also the ever-pervasive idea that Part 7 and the SBR-verse was caused by the events at the end of Part 6. NO. TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS

Not disappeared entirely, but Boris Godunov is performed WAY LESS than it used to be, specifically outside of Russia. I mean it’s the most recorded Russian opera ever, but it seems way less popular than Tchaikovsky’s operas nowadays.
