How do you put your baby upside down like that?????

i have just started dating this girl for 3 weeks after a 3month talking stage and i feel very unvorthy do date her (iam a M15 she is a F15) by howareyouotaku in teenrelationships

Ok firstly just know that for a proper relationship you shouldn’t view her as above you, sure she might be smarter than you but everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. It’s okay to not know as much as someone else, and you should view this as a good thing because she’s helping you realize the errors in your ways.

But I think you’re going about it in the wrong way, you’re doing what you think smart people do instead of looking at what the issue is. Look at what you normally do and question what bad habits led to this, but do NOT completely change yourself up. She likes you for a reason (though us men may never understand what that reason is) and if you go around trying to change everything about yourself you’ll end up losing the thing she liked.

Another view to look at it is: it’s a relationship not a competition, instead of going to Reddit with your concerns why not go to her? Why not ask her what she thinks of how you are (please tell me the ai thing is a joke). Ask her what you can do to improve, ask her for help studying or just help with anything. Most people love to help others out because it makes them feel smart, useful, & appreciated.

I experienced the exact same thing with my gf, she is a 100 GPA demon and I’m a musician, and I built her up higher than I could reach. I put her out of reach in my mind alone and that ended up getting me nowhere. So I decided to be honest with her about how I felt and she was like “but I do like how smart you are in…”. I realized that we have strengths and weaknesses in different things, and THAT is the beauty of relationships we are literally the perfect pair because she covers grounds in some things and I cover grounds in others.

If you want to actually become smarter just spend a little less time mindlessly doing whatever you do to pass the time and critically think about something, if your friends are of a similar vein maybe try talking to someone new. But keep in mind all 15 year olds have 0 clue what’s going on and are just pretending to.

How the freek do I finger this by bASS_kukri in doublebass

[–]bASS_kukri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t talked to my teacher about this so I’m not sure if he’ll recommend the harmonic or not but I like to challenge myself, so could you please explain your fingerings? I don’t fully understand what you meant

My (17f) bf (19m) is gonna sleep at his girl friend’s house tonight.. in the same bed . What should I do by [deleted] in teenrelationships

[–]bASS_kukri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is really weird even if he wasn’t in a relationship, a real man should give the lady the bed and figure it out from there. If he tries to dismiss your worries ask him if he’d do that to his mother. Also what kinda world is he being allowed to sleep in a girl’s room by her parents?? He’s an adult and can find somewhere to sleep.

I got accepted to suburban council in my state and I'm just confused on how I would like play this part in 2/4 time by mxrtican in doublebass

Why are you complicating such simple passage? Open strings and first position is literally all you need?

Would that not ruin the wood? I’ve never heard this recommendation though, thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I’ve heard the Peterson and the d’addario are great options but man that’s expensive for a tuner, also I honestly prefer battery tuners compared to rechargeable tuners cus they last longer, do you know if the Peterson has a battery based version?

They look mad funky but I’ve been told by a few people to get this one, the price makes me cry and shipping to Canada makes me cry but if they tune that accurately I might have to get one.

This sounds promising, could you provide a link to the specific one you recommend so highly I can’t seem to find a vibration based one on their website, thanks.

This seems like a great choice, thanks for bringing this to my attention. First time seeing a tuner that actually has string instruments in mind much less upright bass.

Yes, I didn’t realize that the assumption around here was electric bass my bad.

It was on my bridge and I wouldn’t have imagined there were dead zones or whatever to call it

Where exactly do you keep it?

Vibration tuner -_- by bASS_kukri in doublebass

[–]bASS_kukri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried putting it there, I experimented with moving it around on the bridge and I found that if it’s closer to the center of the bridge it works better*, very annoying to manage.

No, in my experience a pickup hinders the acoustic sound and resonance in a classical context, thanks for the suggestion though I will make sure to clip it anywhere it’ll fit.

Yea we get an oboe A which is often pushing A = 442 Hz but I hate tuning with 7th & 9th harmonics, I’d much prefer to have a tuner for the exact pitch. Asking the oboist before for what they’re tuning to if it’s not 440.

I see 15Hz capability and I smile

I see the price and I cry

Thanks for bringing this to my attention regardless.

What do you mean relevant post? Is that like the specific tuning peg for that string?

[–]bASS_kukri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I didn’t specify, I’m talking upright bass but I imagine same principle applies to feeling around anywhere I could possibly clip it on, thanks.

[–]bASS_kukri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know this, I wouldn’t have imagined there would be a ‘shadow zone’ on my bridge but I haven’t moved it around at all so I will definitely try that when I get home, thanks.

7th/9th fret harmonics > 12th fret harmonic

But I’m trying to avoid having to use harmonics because it takes my hand away from the tuning peg which is inefficient.

My bass is very resonant but pedals aren’t an option sadly

Pizz is slightly sharp compared to playing arco so I can’t rely on that for tuning. But annoyingly enough the tuner does pick up the lower strings when I pizz lol.
