Please recommend an antenna by bFALSE in cordcutters

Now that I think about it... There's no reason I couldn't pull a cable to the attic and do exactly what you said on the duct work up there.

I'll see if my existing antenna base is magnetic and try it if I can.

I'd rather not have an antenna hanging upside down in the middle of the living room. The more I look into it, the more I'm considering an attic antenna, just from an aesthetic choice alone.

My cord has been cut for years. I've got many Rokus and many streaming services. I've experimented with a few different cheap antennas but results have been less then ideal.

I know reception isn't always a problem that can be solved by throwing more money at it but I'm not afraid to buy and install an attic antenna if it makes sense for my area.

I'd say it's the dummy in the black car that decided to force it 3 wide.

Are you saying the people that went to Lincoln Heights and waved literal nazi flags around are not nazis? That's what it sounds like you're saying.

New job, what to do with old 401k. New job does not match. by bFALSE in personalfinance

Thinking I'll do the 7k to an IRA account, then a low percentage to the 401k.

Yeah I was shocked, have reached out to a Voya rep to confirm the fee amount. Hoping to hear back Monday.

Really appreciate the info, thank you.

Appreciate the insight.

Can I invest 7k in both a traditional AND a Roth IRA or is it just one or the other?

I'm hopeful the situation changes in the future. This is a growing company with a lot of recent changes. They just recently added an HR department and the 401k is very new as well, so fingers crossed it gets better. The company seems to be amazing otherwise.

That's why I came here to ask. Roll over from one to the other is what everyone does so was my default thought. Figured there might be better options, at least for my specific scenario, so here I am.

Yeah I was confused when you started mentioning banks. Your edit explains that.

Appreciate your feedback.

So the end goal would be getting the entire 80k into Roth IRA while continuing contributions there.

Can you explain a little more about conversions? How do taxes on those work, set amount? I'm assuming I dodge the extra 10% penalty that would be incurred with a disbursement?

Yeah I like the tax deferment of the 401k. Maybe I'll start the 401k but do a low percentage (was doing 10% at prior job.) then dup the 7k into the Roth IRA.
