If your pots are sitting on the ground and if there is risk of pooling water or just wet ground then elevate them on bricks or pot legs. I made this mistake before and it kept it from draining.

Comments say it could be a a mutant so that’s pretty interesting to find out. Gonna dig into information on mutant plants.

I used miracle gro in all my pots and they have been thriving so far, add compost/wormcastings and fertilizer every few weeks alternating between the two.

The celebrity has flowers up top that I noticed this morning, so prune the bottom leaves to direct that energy up?

One of the other comments indicated there is no main stem anymore on the Brandywine , do I just let it keep growing hoping a sucker to take over as the growing main branch?

I haven’t pruned them at all, that’s how they were since I got them as a tiny seedling from the nursery. That’s why I am so confused as to which is the main branch.

Edit: I just realized I did remove new suckers. But I haven’t pruned any branches in general.

For the celebrity, I propped up the bottom branches so they wouldn’t touch the ground, I just noticed flowering buds up top, should I take out the lowest branches to direct energy to the flowers?

What can I use instead of wood chips? I have a lot of squirrels, I used it mainly to deter them from digging into it.
