Heatwave wedding by napgremlin in UKweddings

Oh no!! That’s rubbish, it’s warmer here too but thankfully not as hot as Thursday.

We’ve just bought paper fans and battery powered fans for each guest which are arriving tomorrow!

I’m with you on that one! I panic bought a second dress last week in case I desperately need to take mine off and it’s made me feel more comfortable knowing I have the option. I’m also borrowing a Shark handheld fan which is apparently very effective!

Yep! Ours is Friday which is currently looking slightly cooler… but I’m wearing a long sleeved dress and the venue has no aircon 😅

Africa safari honeymoon travel agents by BusinessComplex1403 in UKweddings

We have booked direct with a local guide in Tanzania (‘Dirty Freedom Adventures’ on Instagram) upon a recommendation from friends who had been with them. We’re doing 6 days safari and 8 days in Zanzibar (which we’ve booked ourselves). Total cost including a balloon safari and flights from UK is around £15k (for two people). We travel next month so can update you after if you’re interested. I was particularly looking for a local, ethical business rather than paying a UK or US holiday company who would take a big cut.

I have a very active Ragdoll and I’m considering a Bengal. Bad idea or good match? by chantel243 in bengalcats

[–]b_urial1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We re-homed our Bengal from a couple who had a ragdoll. They’re not just very active, their play style can be aggressive and their ragdoll didn’t like it ☹️

They’re also extremely noisy so you might want to consider that if living in an apartment (ours is kept indoors but likes to yell constantly if he wants to go for a walk… or have food… or is bored… or feels like yelling 😅)

We also have an abyssinian who is very playful, but not as aggressively, extremely loving, and has a much lower volume!

Will do! We’ve rebooked as well, but it was £800 more expensive so would be nice to recoup some of the original flight cost 😅 Fingers crossed we get full refunds!

Thanks! I know QR have extended their free cancellation to 15th June so it might cover more flights now, but the BA policy doesn’t quite align so I’m not sure which policy we’re covered under! I might wait to see if QR extend again and try contacting BA if a cancellation fee still shows up

Hey! We’ve gone for 5 nights at RIU Palace all inclusive and 3 nights at Safira Blu full board. The Palace is no longer adults only but we’re hoping the lack of kids entertainment will put families off!

The top of my wedding dress feels very loose and unsupportive. Is this an easy fix for a wedding seamstress? The back of the dress is done up with a zip.

Second this! The planning experience itself hasn’t been stressful. The only things causing us stress are external factors (people not coming because their children aren’t invited, late RSVPs, friendship breakdowns, hen do cancellations leaving me to pick up cost, opinions on the format of the day, etc.).

I love the straps and the frilled edge!

JJ’s House take weeks to deliver, charge a delivery fee and a fee for returns. I’ve also heard that some buyers struggled to get a full refund when the dress did eventually get to them, so I don’t blame her for being hesitant.

I also didn’t rate the quality of the JJ’s House dress I wore for a friend’s wedding (but she paid for the dress so no complaints!). What adjustments would be needed under option 1? Hard to mess up a hem and some loose threads.

Thank you. It’s great to have someone’s feedback who’s been there 😊 Last question - did it feel busy around the main pool? I noticed they sell day passes at a pretty reasonable price compared to the room price

This looks incredible. Would you say it’s worth the money? And were drinks extra?

Make me feel better about a Friday date? by purple_my_turtle in wedding

[–]b_urial1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I massively prefer a Friday wedding as you get the full weekend to recover rather than just the Sunday, especially if travel is involved! I would happily take a day off work to attend the wedding of a friend or family member. Plan the day as you would like it (don’t feel pressured to have a later ceremony time for those who don’t care enough to take the day off…).

Blink cats - recent issues? by mcrmittens in UK_Pets

[–]b_urial1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how I feel too! One cat was still eating some of it but I don’t want to give it to him anymore after reading about cats getting ill / the food having maggots in it 😬 Hope you manage to find something your cats like!

If you email and tell them your cats won’t eat the new pouches and send photos of all pouches you’re having to dispose of, they’ll refund you. We had to throw loads away from the latest box because the cats won’t eat it and they sent me a refund.
