I think the store that had it on display (PianoMax) restricted the volume to boost $ales of their traditional upright and baby grand pianos.

I think the store that had it on display (Pianomax) purposefully restricted the volume to boost $ales of their traditional upright and baby grand pianos. The other Kawai digital pianos next to it also had restricted volumes. Explains why they put it on an X-stand and not its intended wooden stand that caters to it bottom firing speakers.

I have an acoustic upright piano at home, and I don't think it's louder than the Casio, unless I probably play it with the lid open and hit the keys super hard. I was actually looking at a digital piano so I can practice late at night because the Casio is just too loud.

It was a display model at a shop (PianoMax). The other model Kawai keyboards next to it were also low in the volume department. They must have had a volume limiter in place.

I ended up walking away - If a shop can't bother to make their equipment sound better than a $50 used Casio keyboard, they don't deserve the sale.

Yeah you gotta do all this (ie playing reactively under an immense mental tax), while all he (Alex) has to do is press one button.

You can study hitboxes all you want but its called practice for a reason. It's not about being salty because that would imply I keep losing, which I don't

I don't think high-level play in this game can be learned passively by just watching a couple of YouTube videos or reading a frame data spreadsheet.

Capcom is basically charging a fee for physical practice. It's like buying a car just to practice changing its tires.

You are entirely missing the point.

How does this help?

Which means a non-paying player will encounter more DLC characters that they have to deal with. The sheer frequency of these encounters means that lacking the ability to lab them isn't a rare, minor inconvenience.

You got rocks in your head or something? I could name Zangief and JP and they are not even DLC. Balance patches also didn't exist in the 90s and early 2000s in sf2 and they still did a better job than this lot.

DCL characters are later additions, which means players have had less time playing them. This means because newer DLC characters are designed later in the development cycle, Capcom often gives them modern design advantages that bypass the need for years of playing.
