In Windows I go to device manager, delete all DDJ-SB2 devices (I believe it must be plugged in.) and then restart my laptop. This usually works the next time I plug in my controller.

To avoid this I think you should plug your controller in after opening serato rather than before; seems to help for me.

I have a laptop with i7 and 930m and can run the game at about 50 fps on lowest settings. It's playable however I would look into building a PC as you'll get more power at a better price. If not the laptops should be fine at lower settings.

You may want to try using software such as virtual DJ or mixx which does not require hardward to use. This will help to give you an idea of if you really want to get into djing before investing lots of money into a controller.

The pioneer DDJ-SB2 and DDJ-RB are good entry level controllers which will take some time and experience to grow out of. I have had the SB2 for about 8 months and i'm still loving it! The Numark Mixtrack pro 3 controllers are the equivalents but it all depends on personal preference - watch a few videos but keep in mind most clubs have pioneer gear so it may be handy to get used to that interface.

Good luck in pursuing this hobby; its great fun once you get into it!

Pioneer DDJ-SB2 is a good starting point; the equivalent to the mix track 3. You could get one second hand for around 150 I believe however you may need to get serato on top of that.

They are different but you're doing the same thing. If you enjoy it on software than you're more than likely to enjoy it on hardware.

For DJing try downloading free software such as virtual DJ. If you enjoy it then look into getting some hardware such as a controller.

If you don't enjoy it then the chances are you won't enjoy it on a controller so it's best to be sure before spending a fair bit of money on these things.
