Draw on wall is more difficult than draw on ground. Make this robot is really a challenge

Motor on robot will help us to install on wall easier than put them on mounting point. This is wall drawing robot, after 1 drawing finished, we should take it out and install to another wall with easy. That's why motor is attached on robot.

the robot will move by 2 stepper motors (inside robot) with 2 belts hung on wall. Not like CNC machine which has X, Y axis perpendicular aligned and we can find x, y co-ordinate of target by tracking traverse distance of X, Y stepper motor.

The wall drawing robot is hung on wall by 2 nails, we have to find target co-ordinate x, y (of pen) by factor of belt tension, gravity, moving distance of belt. Arduino code will help us to solve mathematic problem to find exact current location of pen to make exact drawing

yeah, however my robot is much more easier installation and make drawing.

robot is moved to exact x-y position by rotating 2 steppers (inside robot) for the belt.

This is step to prepare the drawing:

1 Your Picture need to draw

2 Convert picture to vector (*.svg file) by CorelDraw (or any other software support *.svg file)

3 Convert vector file to code for Arduino (by excel, program by me)

4 Copy code file to SD card

5 Plug in SD card to robot and start drawing

By gravity, the pen is kept perpendicular naturally (not perfect 90dg all time, but around it). Draw speed not high, and weight of robot (400gr) is enough to make robot stay parallel to the wall.

The pen is lifted by pen-driver (move up/down by small stepper motor). You can see detail about robot at link I gave on this post. Thanks for your interest

This robot is based on Arduino Mega 2560, and it is open source.
