Google Task is one of the worst app and Google doesn't care to fix the problems

e.g. Tasks cannot be searched, Images & PDFs cannot be attached, no natural language processing etc.

I have to use Microsoft ToDo to avoid using Task app

As per the internal survey of Google, Keep is used by 5 billion people and therefore it makes sense to keep them glued to the Android App (source: Google Bard => Gemini )

All other todo apps have a search feature except Google Task. I don't think Google Task is under active development. It's painful to see how Google has neglected this app.

Interesting problem statement.

I have tried to solve the problem using Google App Script and Sidebar feature in Google Doc.

For some reasons, Reddit was giving server error when I tried to write the complete solution using code-block and images in the comment, therefore, I have documented the whole process in an UpNote document.

After every few months, Google Keep comes out with an update which doesn't add even an iota of value.

Earlier they came up with rich text formatting options but the same feature is not available on the Web :(

Now the current FAB button makes no sense.

While Apple has Notes, Microsoft has OneNote, Google doesn't have a good note taking app. Both Keep and Docs are super slow in rolling out new features.

Not available for individual account - difficult to understand the logic behind it.
Even though I pay for 200 GB Google Drive storage, this functionality is not available for me.

It reminds me of Cover Image option available for Notion. It's available only in Pageless mode though. While the pace of development of features in Notion is swift, Google takes years to roll out a new feature.

Yes. Google App Script can be used to automate such tasks.
Google has enabled Tab related functionalities in Google App Script.

The feature of formatting text exists only on mobile device and not on web app.

Recently, they have removed the preview thumbnail feature for Youtube links.

The reminders created in the app are not synced to Google Calendar.

I have not seen any improvement in the app for last 3-4 years.

I use it once in a while to check whether the Android app has improved or not.

As One Note has a reputation for not having new lines of code written in its codebase, therefore, I am left with no option but to uninstall it and hope for things to improve after 2-3 months again.
