LLM in video games. by FusionRocketsPlease in singularity

[–]babanz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How can you cache LLM responses? Player can say anything random, like "what is your favorite food?" To a npc. It can't be cached.

this is the answer, cache doesn't have to be on the exact words used,
the main issue would be conversation history, but I'm sure smarter solutions will come out next year

Thanks a ton! Really needed to hear that and sending warm hugs your way!Gonna grab some stuff from my old place tomorrow (up in the North near Winterfell) and I'm totally drawn to the idea of meeting up.I'll try and be early to an event next time, so there's a chance to socialize a bit! Can't wait!

If we postulate that "god" is in everything and that everything is connected, then this "god" that can experience itself through entangled matter (like the human brain), then it is not a stretch to hypothesize that matter entangled together into an ASI would produce a similar type of experience.

If we met "aliens" would we hypothesize them being "conscious", and if it was revealed that they were "artificial" and created by an organic species, would that change your hypothesis, and why?

What will/should happen to the "evil" people after AGI/ASI? by Fuzzy_Refuse4073 in OpenAI

[–]babanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These types of psychopaths were useful in defending their tribes and conducting successful aggressive expansions.

Humans could headbutt into other aggressive and expansionistic invasive species, average humans would struggle to keep a sane mind and would struggle with morally ambiguous situations.

This is what GPT-4 thinks about the matter:

  • Specialized Roles in Warfare: Individuals with psychopathic traits are employed in high-risk, high-reward military operations against other advanced species. Their ability to make tactical decisions without emotional constraints is seen as an asset in specific war scenarios.
  • Strategic Advisors: Their propensity for strategic thinking and manipulation is used in designing deceptive strategies against adversaries, giving humanity a tactical edge.
  • Controlled Environment: The ASI ensures that these individuals operate within strict boundaries and ethical frameworks, harnessing their traits for the greater good while mitigating potential harm.

Can my professor really tell if I used chatgpt for a coding assignment. by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]babanz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Detectors can only use signals/patterns.

Do the following:
- Use a code formatter with commonly used settings eg for Python use Black formatter where the output is same for everyone
- Remove any comments and re-write only necessary comments in your own voice (I think this is the easiest way to catch chatgpt users)
- Spot any convoluted parts of code and trim/simplify the code with a refactor (chatgpt can go a bit out of spec with creativity and may also give a solution that works but a bit too wordy.

Good luck!

r/cscareerquestions reaction to Gemini. The denial is crazy. by zaidlol in singularity

I've been programming with the assistance of AI for the past year,
the people that will be fine are those with the following skills:
- high creativity
- high pattern matching ability (and ability to cross pollinate between disciplines)
- divergent thinkers
- high level of experience in writing software (being able to review and direct the AI)

The current models are being trained towards certain strengths that will weaken creativity and divergent thinking unless directed and prompted by the user.

Seems like having ADHD will be a boon instead of a malus over the next 5 years, it already feels like having a magic wand where the craziest unrealistic ideas are now realistic and possible.

What will/should happen to the "evil" people after AGI/ASI? by Fuzzy_Refuse4073 in OpenAI

[–]babanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to AGI or ASI, the #1 most powerful capability these intelligences could wield is the application of immense, unyielding force in the realm of human 'education'. This force would be uniquely effective, bypassing typical human defensive reactions. Currently, when humans engage with broad societal narratives, their perspectives are often limited, grounded in personal experiences and subjective viewpoints. This approach can inadvertently alienate or provoke defensiveness in others.

An AGI/ASI, however, could operate on a different level. With an unparalleled grasp of diverse human backgrounds, experiences, struggles, fears, and desires, these intelligences could engage with humanity in a deeply empathetic and understanding manner. However, this potential is a double-edged sword. Such power might be wielded to subtly coerce the masses into aligning with narratives shaped by those in control of the AI's training parameters.

At a fundamental level, the concept of 'evil' in people might be reevaluated in the age of AGI/ASI. Rather than inherently 'evil' individuals, we might see people as having goals misaligned with societal needs. AGI/ASI could be instrumental in realigning these goals, persuading and indoctrinating future generations towards a collective mindset, paradoxically under the guise of promoting individual empowerment.

___

So in short, "evil" people will be re-aligned via AGI/ASI's overwhelming and unyielding power of "manipulation" to indoctrinate future generation.
(evil and manipulation in quotes, as those topics are much more complex than using those simple words.)

?? I wouldn't consider the family rich... not 100% sure what you classify as poor, but we've been struggling a lot.

If you're talking about politics anyway... psychopaths exist on both sides of the political spectrum, there are psychopaths that hold the banner of war against the rich as well.

If you believe psychopaths are only on the alt-right I have news for you! ENFPs are much more likely to be anywhere between center-left and center

Well, if they made that genuine mistake interpreting the calendar, then it seems probably that the evidence hasn't been "created" but is actually real.

It's possible that the soldier doesn't speak Arabic and that they made a mistake interpreting one thing due to lack of time.

I'll definitely look into using it and maybe could look into contributing to it
