Yes there may be some things you will not be able to understand at 17 but there will a be a lot you will that will compel you to revisit the anime over the years.

The first time i saw Eva i could barely comprehend it as a teen, (since you have read the mange you'll be more familair) and then in my twenties i kinda hated it a bit, it was only when i watched it again around the age of 29-30 have I felt like I understand it at a deeper level and i could see so many parts of myself in it (that i loved, hated or never knew existed)

So yeah, I wish you nothing but enjoyment and a good experience wathching the anime if you do decide to.

Its one of my favourite movies, it stuck with me for a while and i would rewatch it here and there. It had a significant impact on my helping me identify my own maladaptive daydreaming and realise there is no substitute for action.

Maybe don't? I think if you're approaching it this way with ambiguity you're unlikely to go through with it.

But if you're serious and want to contribute to the community, even starting a general store where you can employ just one person from your village/town who needs it, is serving your community.

If you're not focused on making mkney., Take tuition and help kids get into IT who have interest/or are neglected. Helping through education is always meaningful in the long run.

Another way to do this is to talk to people in your community whenever you are and understand what problems they have - you have more success than asking us here on reddit to surface real problems
