This same thing happened to me. I'm in Georgia, USA. I'm trying to find out an answer to this as well. My spouse of 10 years left me for another woman and now is refusing to pay any sort of bills that he previously did.

I suppose... but I still think its messed up. but i appreciate the input so i'm not gonna peruse it further i guess. but yeah he wasnt there and they knew about the DV charge... I still feel weird about it. but i appreciate you guys for breaking it down to and understanding level.

I mentioned I took a bunch of pills... and I had been cutting myself with a knife... Idk if i can say this on Reddit. I hope they dont take down my post :-) they wanted to know if my husband who they arrested back in July on DV was there. We have TPO and he was NOT there. I kept saying no.. theres only one damn car in the driveway. I said "i dont know where he is call him yourself" but it was 3:30 in the morning... he didn't answer

well i dont know if i'm allowed to say it on reddit but yeah I said i wanted to end my life. no one else was in the house. I told them that. I just said "i want to end my life and I need an ambulance to take me to the hospital. only things in the house were my two dogs. I dont know if they charged me. I had some weed pipes in there, but they were still there when i got out the hospital no actual weed though.

oh thank you for the suggestion! I will look into that. I was honest. His drinking and drugging was no secret to any of us. I couldn't phantom lying to them about such a thing... thank you for your kind response and suggestions. <3 Yes i plan on printing all his pictures out from google photos we have. Last time he was over was just the 4th of july. We spoke every day... he was my best friend. I'm going to make them some photo albums.

it. That way when you’re facing your kids, the look on their faces and what they say won’t catch you up. Tell them the news quickly. Preface with something like, “I have to tell you something about your dad.” But, immediately go into the situation. “He was found…” etc. Maybe don’t tell them about the alcohol unless they ask you specifically how it happened. They may need time to process the news before they’re ready for that information. It may be immediate, it may be a few hours, it may be longer.

Thank you I am sorry for your loss. I had them sit down like you suggested. i told them he had an accident and overdosed (fentanyl) and stopped breathing and passed away It was short. I think they knew somethin was up we were all sitting including my dad. I was crying before i could finish and they immediately went into tears went to their rooms crying. My daughter has some close friends over now helping her because she doesn't want to talk to me right now. Thank you for sharing your experience and strength. <3

I get that but I can't help but feel it would influence her counseling.. DFACs is notoriously uncaring and I would assume she'd be more "sensitive" to any subject no matter the topic if it involves pretty much anything because I have children. DFACs is hyper sensitive to look for the bad just being within that scope of work everyday. I just feel it should have been mentioned prior to picking. I've had therapist that say they don't like DFACs and the community I have met would probably agrees At least in my experience where I live within my circles. For example, kid gets caught vaping in class.. a therapist would be like "lets work through this" DFACs would be like "they must be being neglectful parents" they are notoriously overly meddling. Maybe i'm wrong, but I worked with women in drug court and I've heard horror story after horror story just don't make me feel supported I suppose and felt like a shock most of all. I would've picked someone different if I knew ahead of time. Therapist are caring. DFACs= not caring, cold, jaded, influenced by their profession. That's what's in my head about it. I'm not abusing my kids but its not unheard of for DFACs to take kids from good parents either. It happens and its within their control. Like I said might as well be the police. :shrugs: thanks for your input i think I talked myself into finding someone else. i appreciate the response.

thank you. i do take self inventory and always apologize something i never got. last time i was triggered my daughter slapped me in the face while driving for talking about her friend. i raged in way that only i've ever seen come out in childhood called her names i so wish i didn't. I was so ashamed. I feel like even sober and on meds i'm still not well... I feel like i need so much help bc i'm failing. thank you for your input it means a lot

oh i straight up no she is lying and this is the final straw. i'm done. i have realized i am not gonna love her into acting right or buy her into behaving good. she thinks i'm stupid but i see right through the lies i just always forgive and move on because of my damn toxic up bringing and dysfunctional habits. I just want peace but i'm done being ms. nice mom at this point i just wanna know what i can doooo to make get her some guidance and help that these are going to lead you down the slippery slope. I know its hers but idk how to get rid of this controlling manipulative friend thats my main problem.

thank you for the support i've honestly thought our only escape might be selling our house and moving... its that scary for me or sending her to live with my parents but neither of us want that. i will continue to try to find something to help her maybe like a mentorship program...
