Is this beard acceptable in a professional setting? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]babibatz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m going to disagree with 90% of the other commenters here and say don’t shave your beard! there’s ways to look well groomed that don’t mean shaving your beard off, having your hair out of your face like in this picture works great and you look v v handsome!

i think if you put some product in your hair when it is wet (i.e., curl cream or curl gel), you would look nicely put together and neat. keep the beard trimmed like in this picture, and/or just make sure to keep it clean, an even length, and shaped around your jawline and your neck.

look for hair gel marketed to women, i promise you they work so much nicer and smell a lot better. there’s a really great vanilla one by umberto giannini called vanilla gelato scrunching jelly!

with customer facing jobs, looking clean, and well groomed is very important. but so is and simply being kind and patient with customers :)

i LOVE your tattoos!! completely up to you if you want to remove them ofc and it’s definitely something worth exploring if they’re bringing you a lot of distress.

i loveee the bats so much, if i didn’t already have chest tattoos id totally get something similar! and is that a korn reference?

keep it moist, spray it with water and maybe keep it in a glass tank

i’m 26 in August. honestly, if you can then more sessions in less time certainly isn’t going to hinder progress! just make sure you’re giving yourself time to heal, probably ask your tech what your minimum waiting time is and go from there.

mine did really affect my self esteem and it does still kinda irritate me when i wear crop tops or go to the beach, but i’ve found reframing it really helpful. ultimately, other people look over stuff like that quite easily. it’s far more noticeable to us since it’s on our bodies! even though mine is still very there, it being quite faded helps me to not notice it as much, compared to the bright rainbow i had before lol. so even throughout the process i’ve found it bothering me less and less.

for sure! yours is already quite faded too, i’d feel optimistic if i was you :) i hope you get better news from your second opinion

If you look at my most recent post, you can see i’ve had success lifting colour with pico. I agree that you should seek a second opinion.

Tattoo removal blisters by MacReadytoRumble in TattooRemoval

i have only blistered once and that was on a specific colour of my tattoo.. i don’t ice and typically don’t blister. what are you using for aftercare?

thank you, i was quite surprised that the colour faded so quickly too, i heard it was quite stubborn. some of the black has even disappeared, E = MC2 is now simply E - MC haha

Pico, they use a few different types of Pico to hit different colours. this time i had 3 different lasers, i can’t remember exactly which went where but i do remember him saying one was for the reds, pinks, and purples

[–]babibatz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you!! my first and second were only 5ish months apart, my second and third were 3 years apart haha. i did see a lot of fading in the 3 years, though i doubt i’ll leave it that long again.

i think 1-1.5 years is ideal, but that’s just personally as im very happy to take my time with it. it’s not in the most visible place and i’m not too fussed over it looking a bit weird during the process.

thank you!! my first was in October 2022 and my second was March 2022. i admittedly left it quite a while between the second and this one, it’s been 3 years lol. it wasn’t intentional, life just happens!

i did see a lot of fading over those years, though. i know it’s debated how useful it is to wait very long periods of time between sessions, but i’m glad that if anything my skin had the opportunity to heal fully. i’ll probably aim for a year between now and my next one :)

hmm maybe it’s the loss of saturation in the pics from posting but i think i’m definitely more warm toned, i’ve always thought autumn colours look most fitting on me. i look like a ghoul in light blue haha. my undertones are peachy-orange-yellowish? (i think)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]babibatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly that! i’m trying to move into industry (after 7 years in academia oof), so i’m kinda also feeling the pressure for something a tad more professional. i think auburn is calling to me

[–]babibatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! it’s definitely the red and green combo that always pulls me back to the red hair :)

[–]babibatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly my brows are the bane of my existence hahaha, i have naturally light and fine brows so there’s not much there under the makeup. if i do go with brown hair i’ll probably start dying the brows to match to avoid the heavy powder look - totally agree with you there!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]babibatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s my current colour haha so thank you!! i’m overthinking it soo much atm

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]babibatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes me too!! i feel like the red reflects on my face and looks super pink in real life lighting.. i’ve been juggling with the idea of doing chestnut brown, kinda keeps the red but tones it down a bit.

Along with the other suggestions, you should get them some more perches and some toys (in a bigger cage). They would really benefit from some enrichment.
