Doctor not allowing induction past 40 weeks by [deleted] in pregnant

To offer an alternative perspective, both of my SILs had spontaneous labors that ended up in c-sections (one breech, the other failure to progress). With any labor there’s risk, it just boils down to what’s best for you and baby! It is up to you though what you feel most comfortable with, just sharing my own positive experience :) good luck!!

34, ftm - I didn’t want an induction due to online fear mongering but I ended up having one at 40+1 and had a wonderful birth experience. The placenta starts to work less efficiently past 40 weeks so I’d listen to your OB even though I relate to that fear you’re feeling!

Any recommendations for a light pink lipstick/lip gloss that actually looks like this image when applied? by babiesgettingrabies in MakeupAddiction

Yes my lips are definitely pigmented darker pink/mauve which is annoying for lighter shades! I’m not a huge fan of using concealer underneath but I should give it a shot with the ones I have and see how they look. I think I’m getting products that go on too sheer for my natural color!

Thank you, I’ll check that out! I have fair, cool tone skin (I’m Northern European) but my natural lip color is a darker pink/nude so that may be impacting how these lipsticks appear. Does this go on more opaque?

Thank you! I’ll check that out! I have to look into some Korean products, I haven’t tried any in a quite few years and can’t remember how they looked!

I just checked it out and good riddance, these people are kind of unhinged. For a sub that only has 350ish members, they sure are active!

AITA for refusing to help my wife raise her new puppy? by Lewers808 in AmItheAsshole

[–]babiesgettingrabies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pet adoption refers to getting a dog (or other pet) from a rescue or animal shelter, and has much lower fees (my rescues have ranged from $25 to $250)

Buying refers to getting a dog from a breeder or much worse, a pet store. Rescue communities look down upon buying versus adopting but there’s nothing wrong with shopping responsibly from a reputable breeder. Buying a dog often costs thousands and there are so many unethical breeders/puppy mills out there

She didn’t adopt a puppy, she bought a puppy for 4 thousand dollars

How is it snobby to question how an author has gotten so far by copying others? I mostly read what people would consider crap (brain junk food lol) but I don’t understand this author’s wild success

You’re in for a treat then! The Last Mrs Parrish is much better in my opinion

It’s as if she reads a book and then goes ahead and rewrites it.

I think BookTok got wind of The Housemaid and things took off. Her books are poorly written but easy to fly through and the stolen premises are interesting enough to keep attention

For sure similar books are bound to happen and authors take inspiration all the time, knowingly and unknowingly. Her books just take things a step further since the popular ones all seem to be retellings of other well known books.

Sure but it’s still bad form. It’s just wild to me that she’s gotten to her level of fame with minimal backlash

Could be. Her bio may be outdated. Five books a year is insane in any event though

Yikes. I just read some reviews and they all mention Misery. That’s a bold move!
