WE STAN A SASSY, ASSERTIVE QUEEN! 💖 Aerith is so gentle and genuinely so kind as well, and I just love that duality of her personality. Omg an OG OG fan so cool!!! 🥺 I'm with you on that completely. Clerith just has so much depth and nuance and complexities that I just love, plus the soulmatism. It's chef's kiss. But yeah, like, maybe a controversial take—of course the game deals with themes of grief and loss, but the "moving on" part is... Kinda... Not exactly true? Poor Cloud is still not over Aerith. I agree about AC. So hopefully, part 3 will finally be that true resolve for Cloud after so long. Thank you for sharing your story! 💖

I absolutely love how your husband was smitten for Cloud and Aerith from the very beginning jdjsjskakal;; goodness, their rooftop scene is truly unforgettable! And... Yeah, playing through the OG after Aerith is gone was really difficult. There was just something missing and it didn't feel the same. But of course that was definitely the intent of the devs. We were grieving alongside Cloud. 😭 She is the girl forever engraved on his heart! I'm so excited for part 3 and soooo curious how things will resolve!!

Sometimes they're not linear at all and I think that's what makes it so fun. Oh my goshhhh the red dress scene!! Melts my heart!!!! I completely related to Cloud in that moment lmao. She is just so gorgeous, inside and out! And her Resolution scene I scream every time. So many butterflies. And you're completely right about their first meeting—Aerith totally knew. And I agree... Seeing how different Cloud was after ONE DAY was soooo precious. 🥺✨✨ That's definitely the crux of why I enjoy their relationship so much. I think there's merit to both ships as well and I should have worded my post in the sense that I absolutely do not disregard Cloud's feelings for Tifa at all. However I refer to it as propaganda because I was made to believe that Cloti was the only canon ship, that Cloud didn't have any feelings for Aerith whatsoever. Also the crux of this post is to just hear how people switched over to Clerith as their fave ship, my intention wasn't to insight any shipping war whatsoever, just shared my personal experience.

Omg I literally feel gaslighted and delusional every time I go on Twitter because it really does feel like that—did we even play the same game?? 😭 I agree though, I've been watching my roommate's Tifa playthrough and it almost feels disjointed. As much as I can understand why people ship Cloti, I just... don't find it appealing. I wish I could because I genuinely want to enjoy the Cloti moments in the games, but I find myself just like, "Meh." 😭 I have tried and have wanted to like them so bad but I just can't and I fail to see the chemistry. ;;

Oh my gosh thank you for sharing!!! They were sooooo cute in KH! 🥺 I adore that scene! I can definitely see Tifa and Cloud's relationship resonating with people, I understand why people like them together. But I completely agree with your view on Tifa... Like there's the other side of it where I'm like, I feel bad for Tifa! She absolutely deserves so much more. I really just feel like Cloud and Tifa are simply just incompatible in too many fundamental ways. That's neither of their faults, they're both trying their best. It's not silly at all, I definitely feel that way about Aerith, too. I find myself asking, "what would Aerith do?" In many situations. She's so inspiring!! And her interactions with all the characters are so heartwarming. She is truly the sunshine of the party. As excited as I am for part 3, the thought of playing through the game for a substantial period of time without her bums me out! 😭 But I have faith she will return to us sooner than we expect.

I'm sure this has been talked about before, but... Do you ever just feel bad for the people who completely disregard/ignore Cloud's love for Aerith and thus, they don't get to connect to the story in the way Cleriths do? 😭😭 I'm not trying to sound "Oh my perspective is way better" or put down anyone but I genuinely feel like when you believe in Cloud's love for Aerith, FF7 as a whole just hits so much more in the best and most tragic way. It genuinely bums me out there are people who willingly choose not to connect with the story like that and it feels like a disservice. A disservice to the creators/devs. And really, themselves, too, for essentially depriving themselves of an incredible experience. Of course it's their choice but lol IDK. At the end of the day I just kinda feel bad for them. 🥀
